The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy Please do not assume the worst

Star Ratings Explained
S
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. Can be given little or no chance
OFFICI A L BH A R ATINGS E X PL AINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

CREATE’s 6-month absence having made a taking winning debut at this venue is a slight cause for concern but that race worked out quite well and if she is at that sort of level, she’s capable of conceding weight all round. Sheehan left her opening run trailing in her wake when runner-up at Pontefract and she’s a threat, with newcomer Hamlet worth a look in the betting
