The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy Please do not assume the worst

Star Ratings Explained
S
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. Can be given little or no chance
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
You must be 18 or over to place a bet
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet
If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

WEIGHTWATCHER: MUDLAHHIM won off a handicap mark of 82, his rating is now down 20lb to 62.
LONGEST TRAVELLER: HOMER STOKES trained by D & N Barron, Thirsk, 101 miles.
THE COLA BRASIL has performed with credit all three starts since joining the Henry Spiller yard and he could be the answer to this open-looking contest. While Mudlahhim’s record at this course doesn’t augur well, he is nevertheless feared on the strength of his recent exploits at Wolverhampton. Liberty Breeze will be a threat if on a going day and Wrath of Hector is likely to be in the shake-up, too.

LET HER LOOSE is flourishing at the age of six and hard to side against in her four-timer bid on the back of her facile Catterick success a week ago. Kehlani didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when a good sixth at Kempton last time so could give Archie Watson’s mare most to do Fox Flame, Down To The Kid and Hooflepuff all warrant plenty of respect too in a competitive handicap
