Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy Please do not assume the worst

Star Ratings Explained
S
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. Can be given little or no chance
OFFICI A L BH A R ATINGS E X PL AINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

Though a 7-y-o, VITRALITE is unexposed on the all-weather and was successful at Chelmsford in April before following up in good style atYarmouth later that month. He could be the answer with Ben Curtis doing the steering. The consistent Kodebreaker has continued to knock on the door since landing a C&D handicap off 3lb lower in March and is feared most ahead of Mr Fustic Among those likely to go off at bigger prices, Elshaameq is worth a second look
