While PLASTIC PADDY’s five career wins have been gained at other all-weather tracks (0-4 here), there is no reason to believe that he isn’t just as effective here as anywhere else and a 4lb rise for his latest success at Newcastle probably underestimates him. Although MY BOY JACK isn’t one for maximum faith he escapes a penalty for his breakthrough win in a Wolverhampton apprentice race on Friday. Jockey Sam Feilden couldn’t use his 7lb allowance on that occasion but he can now so Kevin Phillipart de Foy’s charge is taken to confirm narrow superiority over the reopposing Billian, whose rider also claimed 7lb on Friday.
