WELCOME
Welcome everyone today to Royal Windsor Racecourse for Ladies Day, without question one of the great days in the Windsor racing calendar! We are very excited about today’s fixture, our regular hospitality offerings were all sold out weeks ago and based on ticket sales in advance, we are eagerly anticipating a crowd well in excess of 5000 people.
Our local businesses have been incredibly generous in offering up a raft of fantastic prizes as part of the Style Awards for the best-dressed ladies The Awards will open from 11.40am and close at 2.50pm so if you wish to enter please head down to the Flower Wall on the Tack Room to get your photo taken. The finalists will then be selected and invited to attend the final in the Winners Enclosure at 4.10pm. Best of luck to everyone who enters!
Ladies Day would not be the same without the music, straight after the last race, the band will be firing up on the main stage on the Paddock Lawn for an‘80s Explosion’featuring all the big blockbuster songs from that decade Definitely a party not to be missed!
Turning to the racing, we have a 8-race card this afternoon which includes the 8th race organized by the Arabian Racing Organisation, so we are delighted to welcome ARO to Windsor for the first time this season. I would also like to thank all our race sponsors this afternoon, namely Ting Dene Racecourse Marina, Thames Motor Group, Eventmasters, European Breeders Fund and Ron & Esther Leahy who are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary! Congratulations to them and thank to you all our sponsors for your fantastic support.
All that remains for me to say is enjoy the racing, enjoy the music (Royal Windsor flip flops are available from The Hat Shop if you need to give your feet a rest!) and please drink plenty of water as it is a long afternoon!
Best of luck with your bets!

Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating

This looks pretty trappy and a chance is taken on PRIMA DIVA in the hope that she is able to build on her recent improved effort at Bath. HORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE AT WINDSOR
Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital
It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website www.windsor-racecourse.co.uk

RACE SUMMARY
Looks a match between the James Owen stablemates who fought out the prep race for this last month, just shy of this trip at Lingfield on quick ground. On that day Fareedhat El Izz showed the greater turn of foot, getting up on the line by a neck and now bids for a hat trick. However, a chance is taken that the few extra yards here could play to AMIRAT AL ZAMAN’s strengths as she was coming back at the winner on the line, and bred in the purple, she is taken to enhance her paddock value today. Of the British breds racing for a free nomination to the race sponsor’s stallion, Sassy comes from an in form yard and could fill the frame.
