WELCOME
It was wonderful to kick off the Flat Season here at Royal Windsor Racecourse last Monday under bright blue skies and blazing sunshine. There really is no place quite like Windsor Racecourse on a summer’s evening! It was great to see a bumper crowd of 3000 turning out for our first race meeting of the summer season, many of whom were local residents taking advantage of our special Residents Raceday £5 ticket offer.
We are very excited to be staging the first of two Bank Holiday Family Fun Days at the racecourse this month. There will be a host of free entertainment on offer for the kids today ranging from the massive 300 foot inflatable obstacle course on the Silver Ring lawn along with bouncy castles, face-painting and a number of super heroes roaming round the enclosures. For those wanting to enjoy a picnic, we have allocated a specific area in the Silver Ring where you can put down your blankets and chairs We are also delighted to be working with Autism in Racing at today’s race meeting, an organization that aims to help people with autism, both adults and children, by taking part in social activities at racecourses, and there will be a Sensory Room located on the Silver Ring We also have two pony races today running over 6 furlongs ahead of the first race on the card, which should be a fantastic experience for the young jockeys.
A reminder that this year we have moved our premium General Admission offering (Odds-On Reserve) to the Lavender Lawn close to the Jubilee Bar in the Club Enclosure, where for a small increase customers will have an allocated table reserved for the day on the lawn right in the heart of the action. We have also introduced an initial range of Royal Windsor merchandise for attendees to purchase including branded caps, umbrellas and flip-flops, ideal for when the music nights kick in! These can all be purchased from inside The Hat Shop, located to the left of the Club Enclosure entrance.
A special thanks to all today’s race sponsors, namely the Cameron Smart Memorial Race, Gabby Fullbrook Memorial Race, Monthly Cashback @ Greatbet.co.uk and Autism in Racing and we hope you and your guests all have a fantastic day. Today’s charity partner is the Windsor and Ascot Driving Group, an organization set up to help disabled people learn to carriage drive ponies, so please do support them if you can.
We have introduced a Wet Weather Guarantee for today’s fixture, with the opportunity to come back free of charge to another race day later this month in the event of rain today. Further details about the policy can be found on our website at www.windsor-racecourse.co.uk
Fingers crossed the rain stays away and you have a wonderful day out at Windsor today, either with friends or family Wishing you the best of luck with your bets!

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
