WELCOME
Welcome everyone today to Royal Windsor Racecourse for another exciting evening of Monday Night Racing. It’s hard to believe we’re in August already and the end of the Windsor Flat season is only a few weeks away But we have another busy month ahead with 3 Monday evening races, the Racing League night and then our Summer Saturday Closing Party on the 23rd so there are plenty of reasons to come back here over the coming weeks
Last Monday’s Country & Western theme proved a real success being the first time we had introduced this theme to Windsor and it was wonderful to see so many people embracing the theme by dressing up for the occasion. We had nearly 100 line-dancers from a local club performing during the evening and then Hoedown Showdown really got the crowd going after the racing with a whole range of classic hits on the main stage
Tonight’s theme is ABBA and it is safe to say this is always one of the most popular evenings at any ARC racecourse Hospitality sold out weeks ago and admissions have been tracking well so we are confident there should be a great atmosphere this evening!
Whilst the focus is rightly on the racing at Windsor at this time of year, I also want to highlight another exciting event that will be taking place here on October 10th & 11th. We are thrilled to announce that Oktoberfest will be coming to Royal Windsor Racecourse for the first time with three action-packed sessions of oompah bands, folk singers and Bavarian dancers providing the entertainment with steins of German beer and bratwursts aplenty, so be sure to dig out your lederhosen and dirndls and put the date in your diary! For more information, please visit our website at www.windsor-raceocurse.co.uk/whats-on and click on October.
In the meantime, have a wonderful evening and best of luck!

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
