Royal Windsor Racecard - Monday 15th June

Page 1

MONDAY 15 JUNE 15

Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai the UAE’s leading distributor of horse feeds and supplements proudly sponsors the Owners & Trainers facilities at Royal Windsor Racecourse

WELCOME

Welcome everyone today to Royal Windsor Racecourse for our Ronnie Scott’s Racenight, which is back on the Windsor fixture list after an absence the past few years We are truly thrilled to have a highly talented septet of musicians playing jazz on the stage on the Paddock Lawn immediately after the racing night and it promises to be a great way to kick off Royal Ascot week

June is one of the busiest times of the year for the Flat racing season, with the Epsom Derby Festival last weekend, where the weather was atrocious but the racing was enthralling with Thundering On winning The Oaks in mighty impressive fashion, and then Christmas Day leading from the front to win The Derby. Attention this week turns to our neighbours down the road, as the eyes of the world focus on Royal Ascot for what will undoubtedly be 5 days of fantastic racing

Many of you will be aware that the Royal Windsor Racing Syndicate was established last year with the purchase of The Wicked Wolf, who ran his first race at Windsor last August before going on to win his third race in fine fashion at Bath Racecourse the following month.‘Wolfie’ was entered to run at both Newbury and Goodwood at the back end of last week, but whilst he hasn’t made his season debut yet, it is hoped that he will be back on the track very soon and hopefully running again here at Windsor before long

Special thanks to our principal partner, Fitzdares, who are sponsoring the whole racecard today. The Fitzdares Sprint Series qualifiers are now well underway, where horses have the opportunity to qualify for the season-ending Fitzdares Sprint Series Final on August 10th with a total prize purse of £75,000. As ever, we are extremely grateful to Balthazar, Nick, Hermione and all the Fitzdares team for their wonderful support of Royal Windsor Racecourse

Wishing you a hugely enjoyable evening and the very best of luck!

D - Distance winner

CD - Course & Distance winner

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
