Horse & Jockey Welfare

at Lingfield

Park

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture

to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. LONGEST TRAVELLER: IT’S LIFE trained by B Turner, Sherborne, 130 miles.

It looks very much as though COLINSKI has been brought along with handicaps in mind and, given his opening mark, the first-time cheekpieces and, moreover, the shrewd yard he represents, it’s not hard to envisage him raising his game now venturing down that route. Love You Back’s handicap debut sixth at Newbury was encouraging and this stiffer test should be right up his street He is feared most ahead of Emily Rebecca and It’s Life.

In the hope that the word ‘soft’ doesn’t appear in the going description, SPORTINGSILVERMINE is taken to resume winning ways The step up to 1 3/4m in a truly-run race proved beyond his stamina range at Newmarket last time, but he was at the top of his game at around this trip prior to that and his current mark looks manageable Kitty Furnival will also benefit from dropping back in distance and she is second choice ahead of Appier

WEIGHTWATCHER: EASY EQUATION won off a handicap mark of 54, his rating is now down 7lb to 47. LONGEST TRAVELLER: BLACK SMOKE trained by D M Loughnane, Kidderminster, 154 miles.

If the market vibes surrounding SAXON LAND are positive the hint should be taken. Indeed, the 4-y-o is now 6lb lower in the weights compared to when a good third on her handicap debut at Sligo last summer and while it’s been a struggle since, she certainly wouldn’t be the first to show an immediate benefit from the switch to the James Owen yard. Of those with potential, Deira Storm and Fulford Cross rank highly, while it’s too soon to write Tsuki off, for all that she was disappointing when turned over at very short odds at Haydock last month.Wattani was a winner of his sole 2-y-o start but now has much more on his plate under a penalty. 1-2-3:
