CHAMPAGNE SARAH created a good impression when making a successful handicap debut at Newcastle in November, so she is taken to leave her last run behind returned to 5f after a break. She can get the better of the consistent Erosion Risk, while Paddy’s Day could fare better having not been seen to best effect last time

RACE SUMMARY

BADRI has been a cosy winner at Newcastle on his last 2 outings and now has the benefit of the excellent Billy Loughnane aboard, so he’s fancied to complete the hat-trick Tone The Barone finished behind Kiwano over C&D last time and that pair are both respected again, with a bigger field perhaps likelier to help the former turn the tables this time

LEADING COURSE TRAINER (17-22): R Hughes (44 wins from 294 runners, 15%) runs KNEBWORTH TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): P Evans (1 win from 9 runners, 11%) runs DEMOCRACY DILEMMA LONGEST TRAVELLER: DEMOCRACY DILEMMA trained by P Evans, Abergavenny, 169 miles.

RACE SUMMARY

A really hot race of its type, with the unbeaten duo ZOUKY and Kerdos perhaps of most interest The verdict narrowly goes to Philip McBride’s filly, who looked to have more in hand than the margin suggests when scoring at Haydock and perhaps has been granted the more lenient opening mark. Democracy Dilemma was also impressive at Wolverhampton last month and has the benefit of race fitness on his side, so also merits strong consideration.
