Customers Of The Boards

All racegoers should check their itemised tickets immediately on receipt, as mistakes cannot be rectified after the “off”. Customers are reminded to retain all betting tickets until after the weigh-in, as immediate payment will be made only on production of the original ticket

Commitment To Horse Welfare

We are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries and maintaining the highest level of care At every meeting there are three specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action

A British Horseracing Authority Veterinary Officer is also in attendance working closely with the racecourse veterinary team. This is to ensure that any injury to a horse is recorded, so that it can be monitored when it returns to racing.

It is now a standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calmer environment. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.
