Enjoy live music from Newcastle born and bred Jamie Lee Harrison before Racing in the Exhibition Hall – one of the North East’s most exciting singer-songwriters, Jamie combines heartfelt lyrics, uplifting melodies and authentic live performances that have earned him a loyal following. Virgin Bet Raceday Preview PROMOS

Money back on all losing bets as a free bet (max stake £10) – Doncaster 14:10 Extra Place Races: • 11:55 – 1/5 odds, 4 places (min. 12 runners) • 12:25 – 1/5 odds, 4 places (min. 12 runners) • 14:10 – 1/5 odds, 4 places (min. 12 runners) • 14:45 – 1/5 odds, 4 places (min. 12 runners) • 15:25 – 1/5 odds, 6 places (min. 20 runners) • 15:55 – 1/5 odds, 5 places (min. 16 runners) 11:55 Nifty Fifty looks an interesting runner, having now joined the Brian Ellison yard. He steps back up in trip to 7 furlongs today and showed some promise last time out at Kempton over a shorter trip, but has won over this distance previously. Ghisa won a Class 5 handicap at Chester in September. She prefers soft ground and has a favourable stall position today. Ghisa wasn’t beaten far in her last Class 3 handicap at Kempton and looks a nice prospect here. Charlie Mason comes here off the back of a few good recent runs, including his win last time out at Doncaster. However, he has never won a race beyond 6 furlongs, which would be a concern. 12:25 Lir Speciale won this race last year off a mark of 77. He runs off 79 today and certainly has a chance, but comes here off the back of a disappointing effort last month, when cheekpieces were applied for the first time (he is declared to wear them again today).Golden Strike won a 20-runner, 7-furlong handicap at York on soft ground last time out. There is plenty to like about him: he comes here with good recent form, has a decent stall position and handles the ground well. Another horse who should handle the ground is the bottom-weight, Beauty Choice, who won a Class 6 handicap at Redcar last time out. However, today’s race presents a tougher task now that he has stepped up in grade. 13:00 Cala Vadella finished a narrow runner-up on debut at Leicester last week behind a William Haggastrained filly. The pair were well clear of the third-placed runner that day and, although this is a quick turnaround, she should be hard to beat. Virago Parvenue is an £85,000 breeze-up purchase by Starman for the Richard Hannon yard and looks the pick of the debutants. 13:35 Ongombo may have been no match for the likes of Night In Vegas and some others in the Weatherbys £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes, but he still ran a big race at odds of 150/1 that day. He was an easy winner of his maiden in his subsequent race at Ffos Las and ran a respectable fifth in the British EBF £100,000 Final at York. A mark of 82 looks feasible, and he is one for the shortlist. My Boo Boo made all the running when winning his maiden at Brighton last month. He looks a nice pace angle in this race, along with Bladey Lady, who is going for a hat-trick of wins following a recent improvement in form. Resemblance won a Class 5 nursery handicap at Ffos Las in September. She was the beaten 6/4 favourite last time out over 7 furlongs on soft ground at Haydock, but the return to 6 furlongs may suit her better. 14:10 The hat-trick-chasing Coul Angel is sure to be a well-supported favourite, but with a near-maximum field of 21 runners going to post, some each-way bets could offer value, especially as there is an extra place available. Rated only 4lb inferior to the favourite is Poatan, who has run creditably in all four of his races so far this season. His latest run behind Almeraq in the Group 1 at Ascot was a very good effort, and he can definitely be in the shake-up here. The former Michael Appleby-trained Shagraan is another who has been running well without success. His neck second to Abbaye winner Miss Yechance certainly stands out on form, and he too can make his presence felt in this much lower company. 14:45 A field of 17 goes to post for this Listed fillies’ event. It looks extremely competitive, and again, an extra place is on offer. I’m The One, who was the 6/5 favourite to win the Chester Oaks Trial back in May, is clearly well thought of. On her comeback run last month, she was beaten by only a short head in novice company, albeit at cramped odds of 1/2. This could now be her chance to show her class, so with odds of 5/1 available, she looks a good bet. An unexposed type towards the bottom of the card is Wadooda, who looks an appealing each-way selection. Her trainer, Owen Burrows, was responsible for defeating I’m The One at Southwell last time out. 15:25 The November Handicap, with a maximum field of 23, brings down the curtain on the 2026 turf season. It looks as competitive as ever, and for that reason, two extra places are on offer. Nobody Knows may look a relatively short-priced favourite for such a race, but with Ryan Moore booked and the horse being an unexposed three-year-old, it looks as though the bookmakers are taking no chances. One horse that looks to have been targeted at this race is the Ralph Beckett-trained Lord Melbourne. Sixth in this race last year and consistent without winning so far this season, he is certainly capable of going very close. He is 6lb lower in the weights this time around and finished in front of Nobody Knows at York last time out. With all that in mind, the current price of 11/1 looks more than fair, particularly with the two extra places on offer. 15:55 To finish a very decent and competitive card, we have a 22-runner, 6-furlong sprint handicap with an extra place on offer. There are two selections here that should hopefully give you a good run for your money. Firstly, an outsider in Rousing Encore, who was showing encouraging signs of getting back into the winner’s enclosure before a below-par effort last time out. He is still a few pounds higher than his last winning mark but is very effective on soft going and will hopefully go well. Jack Channon, who started the season by winning the Lincoln, will be hoping he can finish the season with another Doncaster success, this time with Crestofdistinction. Lightly raced this season, with only four outings to date, he produced his best performance last time out. He was slow away but worked his way through the field to lead inside the final furlong. However, he was slightly unfortunate in the closing stages and finished an honourable second. The current price of 8/1 looks more than fair.

Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

It’s fair to say I’M THE ONE hasn’t lived up to expectations so far after her wide-margin debut win but she still sets the standard on her Cheshire Oaks form and testing conditions could well bring out the best in her (dam Group 1 winner in the mud). The exciting ALFREDWINCHAM had so much in hand atYork that even a 13lb hike doesn’t look enough to stop him. 2024 winner Lord Melbourne looks to have been targeted at this again and is feared most on the back of an encouraging run at York last month. Castle Cove has been absent since winning this last year but his good record fresh means it would come as no surprise were he to go well again. The reliable Say What You See should also have a say, while Nobody Knows is the unexposed one.
