We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.
In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on badges and tickets purchased will only be paid in the following circumstances. a) Abandonment before completion of the first race - full refund. b) abandonment before completion of the third or nominated feature race, whichever is later - 50% refund. c) abandonment thereafter - no refund. Refunds cannot be made on racedays. To obtain a refund, racegoers should send their ticket with their full name and address details to: Doncaster Racecourse, Leger Way, Doncaster DN2 6BB
Admission
It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk.
For the Premier and County Enclosure you will require both badge and turnstile ticket to enter the course. Your badge is to be worn on your person, clearly visible throughout the duration of your stay, the badge alone will not permit you entry to the course, you will require the turnstile ticket to gain entry through the turnstile gate.
Champagne Lawn
Please note that the Champagne Lawn is a Challenge 21 area and only guests aged 18 and over are allowed onto the Champagne Lawn.
Dogs
Photography
No dogs are allowed anywhere on the Racecourse, with the exception of guide and hearing dogs.
Racegoers please note it is not permitted to take photographs on course except within the areas normally open to the public. Our staff aided by the uniformed security will implement the carefully planned evacuation procedures and undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety. It is essential and a requirement that you follow their instructions. If you are able please take your belongings with you and proceed as directed out of the area as quickly and quietly as possible. These are just precautionary notes and we trust the procedures will not be required. However, please remember in the event of a partial or total evacuation of your area to: IF ABLE TAKE YOUR BELONGINGS WITH YOU AND PROCEED AS DIRECTED QUICKLY AND QUIETLY OUT OF THE AREA.
Refusing Admission
The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone without assigning a reason for doing so. Please retain your turnstile ticket as you will need this should you leave the racecourse and wish to re-enter. Please note on our busiest race days, access to the bars in some enclosures may be restricted to ensure the comfort and safety of all racegoers. Access is on a first come, first served basis (this also applies to free child places with a maximum of 3 children permitted per paying adult). Areas cannot be reserved for anyone in your party who may leave the bar area. Some areas of the racecourse may not be available on our quieter days. Please contact the racecourse prior to booking to check the area you wish to visit will be open.
Horse and Jockey Welfare
Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface.

Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

HORSE WELFARE COMES FIRST AT DONCASTER At every race meeting at Doncaster our top priority is the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. We have a dedicated team of highly qualified vets and doctors following the action at all times and a horse ambulance in attendance at every meeting. Use of Screens It is our policy to erect green screens around any horse requiring veterinary attention. This does NOT reflect the severity of any injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse!

NYMAN has seemingly been working his way back to form in recent months, faring best of those held up when third in a stronger race at Redcar 7 days ago. Down to a handy mark, he can confirm the promise of that run back at 7f. C&D winner Thapa VC comes here thriving and is an obvious threat, as does Michael Dods’ Imperial Guard, who is also a key player.
