WELCOME
TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE
Hello and welcome to Doncaster Racecourse for our Go Racing in Yorkshire Charity Race Night, which is the 6th fixture in the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival sponsored by Sky Bet.
We would like to thank our sponsor Sky Bet for their continuous and most generous support. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to you – our customers who, through your generous donations when purchasing tickets have so far raised a whopping £3,956 for our beneficiaries Weston Park Cancer Charity, Doncaster Mind and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Tickets are still available at the gate today, so the donations are still coming in! Our friends from Autism in Racing are here today with their Mobile Sensory Unit in the Family Enclosure and The Silver Patriarch Bar is our designated ‘quiet area’. It’s a little bit cooler today, but please remember to stay hydrated and drink responsibly if the temperature increases. There are water stations situated around the site, all our bars offer free tap water, and if you require sun cream, please ask a member of staff. There are 7 races on the card and our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 5:20pm to run through today’s runners and riders and hopefully pick you out some winners! On Saturday 30th July get ready to rock as we welcome Magic Queen to the stage after racing, at our Rock at the Races raceday. Magic Queen are one of the most dynamic and exciting Queen Tribute Bands in Europe and are sure to get you up on the dancefloor! Our final Live After Racing raceday is on Saturday 13th August with McFly – one of the best-loved British bands of the 21st century. Racing League 2022 kicks off at Town Moor on Thursday 4th August. Seven regional teams will compete over six Thursday evening fixtures at ARC racecourses around the country and fight for valuable points to boost them up the league table. The team with the highest number of points after the final race will become the 2022 Racing League Champions. Which team will you support? #TeamYorkshire! The four-day Cazoo St Leger Festival takes place 7th – 10th September! This is the highlight of Doncaster’s social calendar and we welcome visitors from all over the country to Town Moor to watch history in the making. Featuring the Cazoo Leger Legends Charity Race on Wednesday, the highly anticipated Style Awards on Thursday, The Cazoo Doncaster Cup on Friday, and of course – the Group 1 Cazoo St Leger Stakes – the World’s oldest Classic on Saturday. We currently have 27 entries for the Cazoo St Leger Stakes, with Aiden O’Brien entering nine runners, including Royal Ascot winner Changingoftheguard, and last year’s winning trainer Charlie Appleby has four entries. Leading fancies for the Cazoo St Leger - Westover and Emily Upjohn are due to run in the King George at Ascot this Saturday. Even though we are in the middle of a heatwave, it’s never too early to start planning your Christmas celebrations! Christmas Live is on sale now – perfect for a fun-filled work Christmas do or simply for gathering your friends together for an unforgettable festive night out! Tickets for all our upcoming racedays and events are available now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk. As always, our team here at Doncaster are committed to doing our very best to ensure you enjoy your day and we value any feedback you may have. We hope you have a great day! RACE SUMMARY A fascinating novice despite the small field but preference is for CROACHILL, who coped better than her 2 rivals with the test of speed when scoring over 1 1/4m at this track last month, and with further improvement on the cards, Roger Varian’s filly can take her record to 2-3. Temporize looked a good staying prospect in making a winning start at Wolverhampton and he shades the vote for second over Melek Alreeh. 1-2-3: 1.CROACHILL (IRE) 2.TEMPORIZE 3.MELEK ALREEH (USA) KEY colours
