Bath Racecard - Wednesday 16th July

Page 1

On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, I’m delighted to welcome you to this afternoon’s Wiltshire and Bath AirAmbulance Raceday.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance. Their tireless efforts and life-saving work make an enormous difference to our community, and we are truly grateful for their ongoing commitment.

We are also deeply appreciative of our valued sponsors: The Harrow Inn, Floyd’s Turfcare and Weed Solutions Ltd, and the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance – thank you for your generous support.

Today marks a historic occasion as we welcome the first horse owned byTheir Majesties The King and Queen to race here at Bath. FarawayTree is set to run in the Your Donations Save Lives EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes at 2:50pm. Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed notable success at this course, with eight winners since 2000 –her final Bath winner being Tynwald in July 2021.

Bred by His Majesty King Charles III, Faraway Tree follows in the royal hoof steps of Gilded Water, who secured victory at our sister course Chepstow in May – the couple’s first runner at that venue.

Later today, keep an eye out for Blue Hero in the Floyd’s Turfcare and Weed Solutions Handicap at 4:53pm – our concluding race. He’s aiming to break the record for the most wins at Bath Racecourse. Trained byAdrian Wintle, the sevenyear-old has won 8 of his 25 races here (and nowhere else), though he hasn’t tasted victory in over a year. Joe Leavy will be the 17th jockey to partner him in his 60-race career.

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled about our upcoming fixtures, including ABBATribute Night on Thursday 1st August and the ever-popular Rum & Reggae Night on Saturday 16th August. Tickets are selling quickly, but we still have some hospitality packages available for those wishing to upgrade their experience.

If you’re looking to make today extra special, we do have space in our stunning Roof Garden, which offers exceptional views of the track. Upgrades to the elegant Royal Crescent Restaurant are also available – just visit our customer service station and our friendly team will be happy to assist.

Lastly, a huge thank you to our outstanding grounds team, whose hard work and dedication have ensured ideal racing conditions for today’s fixture.

Thank you for joining us today at Bath Racecourse – we hope you have a wonderful afternoon and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.
