OFFICIAL RACEDAY PROGRAMME | £3.50
Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai the UAE’s leading distributor of horse feeds and supplements proudly sponsors the Owners & Trainers facilities at Bath Racecourse
Good afternoon everyone, and a very warm welcome to Bath Racecourse for our Country Raceday! I’m Hannah, the Executive Director, it’s fantastic to have you all here with us today as we celebrate what promises to be a brilliant afternoon of racing, entertainment and of course a little bit of country spirit! We’d like to extend a very special welcome to all of our connections, sponsors and partners who have joined us today. Your continued support of Bath Racecourse and of racing means a huge amount to us, and we’re delighted to share this fantastic day with you. We’ve got plenty happening away from the racing too. Throughout the day, we’ll have live line dancing, so whether you’re a seasoned country dancer or simply fancy giving it a go, make sure you get involved! If you’re looking to complete the country look, our customer service point has a fantastic selection of country hats available to buy, because what’s a Country Raceday without a great hat? And for those of you feeling particularly brave, we’ve also got our rodeo challenge! So, if you fancy testing your balance and seeing how long you can stay on then get involved, but we can’t promise it’ll be graceful! Of course, the main event is the racing, and we’ve got some fantastic action coming your way this afternoon. Please make sure you take time to come and observe the horses in the paddock as they love to have an audience. And when the final race is over, don’t rush off! We’re keeping the party going with live music from two brilliant tribute acts celebrating Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. So grab a drink, find your dancing boots and join us for some great country music to round off the day. So, from all of us here at Bath Racecourse, thank you for joining us and most importantly, have a fantastic Day! Enjoy the racing, enjoy the entertainment and let’s get this country party started! Yee-ha!

HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT BATH Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing
surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital. It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

A competitive nursery. KNOCK THREE TIMES didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when fifth at Lingfield last time and is fancied to quickly resume winning ways at the chief expense of hat-trick seeking PJ’s Corner, who rates a big threat. WHO IS ALICE found things a bit easier taking on her elders for the first time when third over C&D recently and is put forward as the answer from a 2lb lower mark, especially with a handy 5-lb claimer now taking over in the saddle. Amarachi shaped better than the distance beaten suggests on last month’s return at Beverley and must enter calculations in first-time cheekpieces, while Freedom Bay, a C&D winner earlier in the summer, can also figure if casting aside a lesser effort at Lingfield. 1-2-3: 1.WHO IS ALICE 2.AMARACHI (IRE) 3.FREEDOM BAY KEY colours
