Bath Racecard - Friday 1st August

Page 1

On behalf of the entire team here at Bath Racecourse, I’m delighted to welcome you to this afternoon’s ABBA Raceday.

I’m Hannah, the Executive Director of this stunning venue, and I’ll be on site throughout the day. If you spot me and feel like saying hello, please do, I always enjoy meeting our guests and hearing what brought you to Bath today.

A special thank you to our valued sponsors, European Breeders Fund, BetWright, and Big Stage Hire for your generous support. We’re also incredibly grateful to our loyal annual members, and of course to the owners, trainers, and connections who help bring the sport to life.

Take a chance on Blue Hero, if he wins today, it will mark his ninth victory at Bath, earning him the title of Bath’s very own ‘Winner Takes It All’ champion!

Looking ahead, we have some fantastic events lined up. Don’t miss our crowd-favourite Rum & Reggae Night on Saturday 16th August, and the legendary Wurzels performing live after racing on Saturday 13th September We’re also excited to introduce a brand-new event, The Best of Bath Raceday on Sunday 14th September, a celebration of our amazing city. Tickets are selling fast, but there are still hospitality packages available if you’d like to upgrade your experience.

If you’re looking to make today extra special, we still have availability in both the elegant Royal Crescent Restaurant and the Paddock Pavilion. Just visit our customer service station and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.

Bath Racecourse isn’t just about racing we also host a variety of private and corporate events. Whether it’s a team away day or a milestone birthday, we’d love to be your venue of choice. For more information, please email us at info@bath-racecourse.co.uk.

Thank you once again for joining us today. We hope you have a fantastic evening and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT BATH

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing

surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website www.bath-racecourse.co.uk.

HORSE AND JOCKEY WELFARE AT BATH

Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty todaywe also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualifiedVets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout theirtime at the racecourse. The locations andvehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital.

It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website www.bath-racecourse.co.uk
