Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, we would like to extend you a verywarm welcome to our final raceday of the season, kindly sponsored by DragonBet, The Bird Hotel and Knees Home & Electrical.
We are set for a wonderful afternoon of racing, with 7 exciting flat races taking place throughout the day plus our final Arabian Race of the season. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Owners and Trainers who have chosen to run their horses here at Bath throughout this season.Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and we wish you an enjoyable time here with us today.
Looking back on the season, we have had a great year and have loved welcoming you to experience it with ourselves. On reflection, particular highlights would include our opening fixture which was a Premier Racedaywith £250,000 prize money on offer, making it the richest raceday Bath has ever had. Moving into the summer, we saw the talented Adaay In Devon win the Lansdown Fillies Stakes for Rod Millman. The summer months saw some very competitive racing on track and great social racedays with Ladies Day, our Rum & Reggae Night and our Cider Racedaywhen The Wurzels played being particular highlights.
More recently, we have seen the Adrian Wintle-trained Vaunted winning the ever popular Bath Stayers Series Final and Kevin Philippart De Foy-trained Dynamiste win the Sprint Series, both of which were performances that will live long in the memory This month, we saw Entrancement win the Beckford Stakes in a thrilling finish and the David Menuisier-trained fillywent on to score at Group 3 Level in Saint Cloud last weekend.
Talking of horses that have gone on to score at Group level, it was great to see the Owen Burrows-trained Anmaat recentlywin the Group 1 Champion Stakes at Ascot. Anmaat won here at Bath in 2021 and has gone on to have a top class career for connections, highlighting some of the stars of the future that we are lucky to welcome at Bath as they climb the ranks.
Pat Cosgrave is currently leading jockey for this season with 8 winners although Hollie Doyle, David Probert & Oisin Murphy are all technically still within a chance of being Bath’s top jockey for the season. The top trainer accolade has been slightly more clear cut with Tony Carroll currently on 9 winners with Michael Appleby and George Boughey on 6 and 5 winners respectively. Verywell done to all for their success here at Bath this season.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome today’s sponsors, DragonBet, The Bird Hotel & Knees Home and Electrical. My thanks go to them for their generosity, and I wish them an enjoyable afternoon.
Our 2025 season has recently been finalised and published on ourwebsite and we are already looking forward to welcoming you back next year Tickets & Hospitality can be purchased online over the winter months so to guarantee your place back with ourselves next year, head over to ourwebsite: www.bath-racecourse.co.uk
As we move into the off season, we see our ever popular fireworks night return tomorrow on Friday 1st November and a host of Christmas party nights in December. Both of these are fantastic opportunities to enjoy evenings with us with eitheryour family or work colleagues so please do visit the website to book in.
I hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon here at Bath, best of luck and we look forward to welcoming you back to Bath Racecourse again in 2025.

This drop back in trip won’t be an issue for TAP DANCER, who opened her account in good style over 10.2f here three weeks ago and makes her nursery debut off what looks a workable mark. Glenridding is likely to emerge as the main danger, with Mister Knockout feared most among the others.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap, with BELLA VENETA shading preference. She was badly hampered at a crucial stage before finishing third off 1lb higher over a mile here last time and promises to be suited by this stiffer test.
