HAVE A QUESTION? REQUIRE SOME ASSISTANCE?
ASK OUR FRIENDLY RACEDAY TEAM OR VISIT THE RACECOURSE OFFICE FOR HELP!

On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, we would like to extend you a very warm welcome to our OctoberAfternoon Raceday, kindly sponsored byVickers Bet and the European Breeders Fund.
We are set for a wonderful afternoon of racing, with 8 exciting flat races taking place throughout the day. Looking at the racing today, it is shaping up to be a highly competitive card here today with a great number of runners on display. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Owners and Trainers who have chosen to run their horses here at Bath throughout the season. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and we wish you an enjoyable time here with us. On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, we wish you luck both at today’s meeting in addition do all future fixtures, and we hope to welcome you back to Bath soon.
We recently hosted the finals of our Bath Summer Series, which saw the Sprint & Stayers finals each being ran for £30,000. Both were incredible renewals with the John Flint trained Lusaka winning the Stayers Final and the Robyn Brisland trained Delegate This Lord winning the Sprint Series. Delegate This Lord was winning its 8th win here at Bath, a series of wins that stretches back to 2017 and this horse regained the Sprint Series title, having won it in 2019, meaning Delegate This Lord will definitely go down as a Bath legend.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome today’s sponsors, Vickers Bet & The European Breeders Fund. I would like to thank them for their generosity and wish them an enjoyable afternoon.
Looking ahead to our final fixture on Wednesday 18th October, we are looking forward to the Beckford Stakes returning to Bath. This listed race, has a prize pot of £65,000 and gave The King his first listed winner when it was run at Great Yarmouth last season. Tickets & Hospitality can be purchased on our website with a discount for booking in advance so head to www.bath-racecourse.co.uk to guarantee your place at this brilliant fixture.
As we move into the off season, we see our ever-popular fireworks night return on Friday 3rd November and a host of Christmas party nights in December. Both of these are fantastic opportunities to enjoy evenings with us with either your family or work colleagues so please do visit the website to book in.
I hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon here at Bath, best of luck and we hope to welcome you back to our season finale on Wednesday 18th October

Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
You must be 18 or over to place a bet
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet
If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

RACE SUMMARY
It would be something of an understatement to say that PALACE GREEN’s Newbury debut didn’t go to plan (unseated rider shortly after leaving the stalls). The fact that he went to post for that traditionally warm novice event suggests that he has been showing up well at home and the hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. Hot Fuss sets the standard and is an obvious threat, while Dallas Star is also feared.

RACE SUMMARY
ROUNDABOUT SILVER goes well here and fared best of those up with the pace at Epsom last time, so he gets the marginal vote over the consistent Paco’s Pride in an open race Eye of The Water is another one to consider

RACE SUMMARY
GOODEVENINGMRBOND may have found the race coming too soon at Haydock last time and he was impressive at Chepstow on his penultimate outing, so he’s worth a chance to get back to winning ways having had more of a break. Whoop Whoop is the obvious danger and Newport Bay isn’t without hope stepped up in trip.
