WELCOME TO BATH RACECOURSE
Westropp STEWARDS’ PANEL CHAIR Joanne Hawkins Lyndsay Allan, Milly Bersey, Sophie Candy

We are delighted to welcome you to our MJ Church Raceday.

We are set for a wonderful day of racing; with our 7 flat races being proudly sponsored by MJ Church and their supporters. I would like to take this opportunity to thank MJ Church for their continued sponsorship here at Bath, and wish them all an enjoyable day.

We have had a very exciting and competitive start to the season and have seen an incredible standard of racing. I would like to congratulate the connections of Symbol of Hope who has already won twice so far this season, adding to his victories from last season. Hopefully we will welcome this course specialist back to Bath soon to see if he can improve on his impressive record. I would also like to especially thank all of the Owners and Trainers that have chosen to enter their horses here at Bath so far this season – your support is greatly appreciated and we are wishing you the best of luck for both today and future fixtures.

We are also excited to welcome back Arabian Racing to Bath Racecourse, with our first Arabian race since last summer Since we last welcomed an Arabian race here at Bath, the Arabian Racing Organisation has been purchased by Arena Racing Company which will secure its future moving forwards. Twenty Arabian races, including four Group races, will take place on British Racecourses in 2023, with the season having started at Lingfield Park on Tuesday 9 May, and culminating at the same venue on Tuesday 26 September.

In addition to racing, Bath Racecourse also recently hosted the Air Ambulance Funday which was a great success. The fun-filled family day used the whole of the site to host their event, which included helicopters being parked for attendees to see. The site is a fantastic place to host a number of corporate and special events, and we cater for a range of different occasions – from school proms to business conferences, and a number of events in between.

Wishing you all an enjoyable day from everyone at Bath Racecourse, and we hope to welcome you back soon to another 2023 fixture.

RACE SUMMARY

AJYAD shaped well when runner-up at Newcastle and is fancied to go one better here with further progress on the cards for this daughter of Australia. Miss Dolly Rocker has the form to have a big say too and is feared most, although a market move for newcomer Ala Kaifi would put a slightly different slant on things. 1-2-3: 1.AJYAD (IRE) 2.MISS DOLLY ROCKER 3.ALA KAIFI colours no horse

RACE SUMMARY

A winner over 1m on his final start as a juvenile, FULLFORWARD ran his best race yet for his new yard when runner-up over this sort of trip at Salisbury 3 weeks ago (Pink Lily placed third) and he can confirm the promise of that run and come out on top. The latter-named, a subsequent winner over C&D 9 days ago, rates a big threat however, ahead of Star Sprite.

RACE SUMMARY

The vote goes to the consistent GRANARY QUEEN, who has done most of her racing at 7f/1m but it could be that sprinting is her game after all. Coup de Force is accorded a great deal of respect on the back of a solid effort in a higher-grade handicap at Goodwood, while last week’s Salisbury winner Redredrobin and Four Adaay are others to consider.
