“Metamorphosis and Back” looks at the long-standing problem of the case study house. The goal was to design a house focusing on the expanding and contracting family. One family may move from home to home throughout their lives but why can’t one home serve the purposes of all? By treating the walls like furniture instead of how walls are typically imagined, one can rearrange their house just as they would rearrange the furniture in a room. First studying the mechanics in the floor slab I developed an design using the floor as the core of the house.
