CLT CATALOG HOMES PROJECT BY KALEB TELEPAK
case study redux2.0
The idea of a catalog home is an enticing one, and has been utilized in the past. Though this idea is not new, creating a system of this type and recruiting CLT as the main material constraint makes the issue more interesting. Typically in a modular system, the design is concieved one time and constructed many, but that is not the intent of this project. This system allows clients to determine what they actually need in a home, from selecting different bathroom styles to impacting how the floor plan will operate. Rather than selecting a pre-designed catalog home and adapting to that space, clients will select the room modules that will then populate the program aspects of their perfect home. Once selected, the Architect will have the liberty in combining, altering and designing these room modules. As mentioned before, this is not a typical modular system, and is instead a collaborative effort between client and Architect to produce a home suited for that client completely.
