SYMPOSIUM PRESENTERS STEVE BURNS, FAIA Chief Creative Officer | BQE A licensed architect, Burns is also a member of the College of Fellows of the AIA. Burns created ArchiOffice, acquired by BQE Software in 2009. He has delivered presentations at architectural and engineering conferences around the world on topics related to business and project management, business and artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies associated with the AE industry. He is a partner with Social Venture Partners, LA, an organization that helps innovative nonprofits change the landscape for social justice. He also hosts the podcast, Disrupting Your Business. WILLIAM CARNEY Senior Associate | Design Technology Leader | DLR Group Carney sets the strategy for digital design technology and building information modeling at DLR Group. He also leads the Design Technology Research Team within the DLR Group Research & Development Studio to ensure the firm’s integrated design teams are on the leading edge of design innovation and project delivery. Carney collaborates with DLR Group design and technology leaders to implement new design technologies and transform data-driven ideas into reality on projects. KATHERINE CHAN Associate | Walter P Moore Part of the AEC industry since 2012, Chan joined Walter P Moore in 2018 as a technical designer in the Enclosure Engineering practice in the New York office. She actually stumbled on facade engineering during an internship that combined her structural engineering degree and her pursuit of her graduate degree in architecture. She has since focused on the design of building enclosures and specialty structures, which she says allow her to combine her interests in structures, architecture, and engineering as a whole. Chan has a BS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures from Columbia University. .

applications that connect data, design, and construction. While on the architectural side of the industry, Chernick led BIM strategy and coordination on several large projects including the GroupM Global HQ in WTC 3. His experience on the design technology and documentation side of AEC give him a unique perspective to focus efforts within AR/VR. He has designed, built, and launched apps for both iOS and Android, and is a frequent speaker on the implications of AR/VR in AEC. When he isn’t creating applications, Chernick is building partnerships with technology companies and learning about adjacent fun new tech. HOLLY ST. CLAIR Senior Associate | Chief Technology Officer | Sasaki St. Clair oversees the strategy, implementation, and management of Sasaki’s digital environment. She is responsible for all the tools and systems used to design, analyze, communicate, document, and manage the firm’s projects. Beyond hardware and software, she leads the vision for Data & Design Tools—Sasaki’s data science, rapid developer, and innovation team. Her background includes over 20 years’ experience driving business transformation, powering digital assets, and creating vibrant customer-centric organizations. FIONA COUSINS Global Digital Executive | Arup Since joining Arup, Cousins’s technical focus has been on energy modelling, mechanical engineering design, and sustainable consulting. She has led many complex interdisciplinary building projects including The Bloomberg Centre at Cornell Tech and Frick Chemistry Laboratory at Princeton University. Cousins is a frequent presenter on transformative sustainable building design, very low-energy design, resilience, and sustainability. In 2017, she received the AIANY Award of Merit and ASHRAE NY Distinguished Service Award. Cousins currently serves on the boards of the Architectural League of New York, AIA NY, the External Advisory Board of Harvard University Graduate School of Design MDE Program, and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). .

NEGAR KALANTAR Associate Professor & Co-Director | California College of Arts & Digital Craft Lab Kalantar is the recipient of several awards and grants, including the Dornfeld Manufacturing Vision Award 2018, the National Science Foundation, Autodesk Technology Center Grant, and X-Grant 2018 from the Texas A&M President’s Excellence Fund on developing sustainable material for 3D printed buildings. Her research has been presented at the Technical University of Vienna and Berlin, ETH Zurich, University of Maryland, Tehran University, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M University, and New York 3D Print Show. She has organized national and international workshops on additive manufacturing, robotics, and materials advancement in digital fabrication and architecture. CODY KESSLER Account Executive | Nearmap Kessler specializes in consulting architecture, engineering, and construction firms in the use of high-res 2D/3D location content to enhance and streamline planning and design workflows. Kessler has a BS in Mathematics from the University of Missouri with prior experience in commercial real estate and finance. DANIELA KRAUSZ Construction Portfolio Manager | Microsol Resources Krausz focuses on guiding the purchasing and implementation of Autodesk and Bluebeam construction software solutions. She works with both new and existing clients, helping them select and adopt the right software solutions for their firms while providing them with the tools they need for success. Growing up in the architecture, engineering,

and construction world, she now seeks to drive success and knowledge in the construction industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Washington University. MITCH LEWANDOWSKI Chief Commercial Officer | Branch Technology Lewandowski brings 20-plus years’ leadership and business ownership experience from the architectural product industry. He uses his collected knowledge from growing international organizations through strategic partnerships and market engagement to generate true customer satisfaction. ALEXIS MCGUFFIN Vice President | Business Development & Partnerships | Lendlease McGuffin is responsible for Lendlease’s strategy and delivery of BIM and VDC services and appropriate allocation of staff resources throughout the firm’s Northeast region. Serving both the development and construction business units, her responsibilities include the development of client specific BIM strategies and execution plans, as well as emerging technology strategy and deployment. She is also head of Lendlease’s national VDC Lead Team, which supports the business at-large, ensuring best-inclass practices and consistency are instituted across the Americas. Prior to her role in VDC/BIM she was a project manager in Lendlease’s construction business unit. McGuffin is an Innovation Advisory Board member and a member of the ICT Steering Committee. She is the recipient of the Women in Real Estate Construction and Design Forum Innovation Award. DAVID MÉNARD Project Lead for Unity Reflect | Unity Technologies With over 10 years’ mixed reality and real-time development experience, Ménard is an industryleader in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) when it comes to enterprise applications. At Unity Technologies, he oversees the technical development of Unity Reflect, which enables AEC companies to create real-time experiences in AR and VR. Prior to joining Unity, Ménard led mixedreality R&D efforts at Autodesk. SYMPOSIUM PRESENTERS JULIA MURPHY Director | SOM Since joining SOM in 2008, Murphy has served as a Project Manager, working on multiple large-scale, complex commercial and mixed-use projects. At SOM, Murphy’s project responsibilities range from day-to-day interaction with the client and coordination with the consultant team to maintaining staffing, schedules, and budgets. A key project in Murphy’s portfolio is Manhattan West, managing many of its component parts, including Southwest Residential Tower, North Tower, Southeast Tower, and Northwest Tower. Other projects include 91 Leonard Street and John Jay College of Cr iminal Justice Expansion. Murphy is a member of the WX Women Executives in Real Estate, a member of the SOM Women’s Initiative Committee, President-Elect of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation, and serves on the committee of the SOM Women’s Initiative. GREG OTTO Modular Segment Lead | Clark Pacific and SCI-Arc Educated as architect and engineer, Otto focuses strategically on collaborative working within the “gap” between architecture and engineering and the potential for innovation that such working brings. FOTEINOS SOULOUS Senior Associate | SHoP Architects Soulous specializes in facade systems. He coordinated the facade and lighting of Pier 17 in Manhattan’s South Street Seaport during construction and served on the design team for the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, as well as other government projects around the world. Currently, Soulous manages the construction of 9 DeKalb, downtown Brooklyn. Concurrently, he is involved in various app developments using virtual and augmented reality technologies from early design phases through construction.
