CO-CHAIR IGOR REYES Vice President | NBWW Since joining the firm in 1999 as a project manager, Reyes has concentrated on the further development of the design culture and the marketing of its historic contribution to local construction. Reyes has been involved with many of the firm’s award-winning designs, including: 1450 Brickell and International Finance Bank, as well as other innovative designs such as VUE, Marriott at Miami World Center, and Met 2 at Metropolitan Miami. He holds a BArch from Florida A&M University.
DANNY FATTAL Senior Associate | ODP Architects Fattal is an experienced project manager with a demonstrated history of working in architecture and construction. He is skilled in design management, negotiation, and construction administration. Fattal holds a Master’s in Construction Management focused in Design and Construction Management from Florida International University.
RAYMOND FORT Senior Associate | Arquitectonica Fort, Associate AIA, LEED AP, is a well-versed designer and has experience in mixed-use, residential, office, educational, cultural, and retail development. He joined Arquitectonica in 2012 and has served as designer, planner, and project manager for some of the firm’s most creative projects, including the award-winning University of Miami School of Architecture building and Mr. C Coconut Grove. Fort has taught at the University of Miami School of Architecture and Florida International University School of Architecture. He has a Master’s of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and a BArch from Cornell University.

JACQUELINE GONZALEZ TOUZET Founding Principal | Touzet Studio Gonzalez Touzet, AIA LEED AP, has won numerous design awards, including the Silver Award and “Architect of the Year” by AIA Miami. Touzet Studio is known for innovative and thoughtful design solutions that respect the climate, culture, and history of the place and the client while still addressing the challenges of our times. Built work includes numerous award-winning, internationally acclaimed projects across the world.
JEFFREY E. HUBER Principal | Brooks + Scarpa Architects In addition to his role as Director of Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Planning at the firm, Huber, AIA, Assoc. ASLA, NCARB, LEED AP, manages the South Florida office and serves as an Associate Professor and Director of the School of Architecture at Florida Atlantic University. Huber’s work combines ecological, landscape, urban, and architectural design with a focus on resiliency and adaptation. His design and research have garnered 75-plus national and international design awards.

CLAUDIO SALAZAR Associate, Project Designer | NBWW
DANILO NANNI Associate Principal | DeSimone Nanni, PE, SI, LEED AP, joined DeSimone in 2006. Current projects include: Paramount Miami Worldcenter and the oceanfront Aston Martin Residences in Downtown Miami. Other recently completed developments include: Panorama Tower, currently the tallest building in the State of Florida, and Brickell Flatiron. Past experience includes: Biscayne Landing; Al Ain Wildlife Park Resorts & Residences, UAE; and the Guaynabo City Hospital, Puerto Rico. He holds a Laurea in Structural Engineering from the Polytechnic in Milan, Italy, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
HENRY RUEDA Professor | FIU College of Architecture Henry Rueda started teaching at FIU in 2014 and before that, he taught at Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseno at Universidad Jose Maria Vargas, Escuela de Arquitectura y Urbanismo at Universidad Central de Venezuela and also at Universidad Simon Bolivar, Venezuela. His professional experience includes working for Jesus Tenreiro in Caracas, Venezuela, and Wiel Arets in Maastricht, Holland. His current work focuses on single-family residences in different cities in Venezuela and in Miami. In 2014 his VL House was nominated for the Emerging Architects Mies Crown Hall Prize of the Americas, organized by the Illinois Institute of Technology.
JEFF SAKOWITZ Senior Associate | Elkus Manfredi Architects Sakowitz, AIA, LEED AP, focuses his expertise on the practical implementation of innovative solutions for a range of clients, including real estate developers and public agencies. He has served a similar role as project architect for a number of large-scale mixed-use development, high-rise residential, hotel, and office building projects during his 25 years at Elkus Manfredi, including the Paramount Miami Worldcenter. He is a graduate of Washington University, St. Louis, and University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
Since 2000, Salazar, LEED AP, has been the designer, project manager, and planner for numerous residential, commercial and mixed-use projects in the U.S., Europe, Latin American, Asia, and the Middle East. Guided by a process of contextual examination, architectural optimization through form and function, and a passion for sustainable performance, Salazar has taken part in numerous winning proposals for architectural competitions. He is also an instructor of Architectural Design and a lecturer at the Graduate Program of the School of Architecture at Florida International University. Salazar has a BArch from the University of Florida and a MArch from Boston Architectural College.
VICTOR SANCHEZ Director of Construction | Goldman Properties Sanchez’s oversight extends to South Florida, Philadelphia, and New York, ranging from small adaptive re-use renovations to large-scale mixed-use, commercial, and hospitality projects, including: Wynwood Walls; The Wynwood Building; Light Box at Goldman Warehouse; and The Wynwood Garage. Sanchez currently serves as Chairman of the Wynwood Design Review Board, and on the University of Miami school of Engineering Masters in Construction Management program. He holds a BArch from the University of Miami, a Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, a Florida Certified General Contractor License, and a GPRO Certification.
PAULINA SZPIECH Facade Engineer/Architect | Gensler Szpiech, AIA, has been involved in the design and development of multiple large-scale mixed-use projects in the U.S. and China for over 10 years. Her focus is on sustainability, innovation, and project execution tactics for high-performance facade designs. She holds an architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Facade Engineering Master’s degree from the University of Bath.
