WELCOME WELCOME TO FACADES+ WASHINGTON D.C.! I want to express my sincerest thank you for showing up today for Facades+ Washington D.C. which marks our 6th live in-person event this year! In each city attendees were very happy that AN is moving forward with live events in our effort to get back to normal. Thank you again for your support and I hope you enjoy the day. The Architect’s Newspaper is nearing the end of our ninth year of the Facades+ conference program and after 18 months of disruptions, we are thrilled to welcome new attendees and longtime supporters to the program’s dynamic dialogue. We have taken advanced precautions to ensure that this event is safe for all attendees. We strive to bring fresh and relevant programming to each city, and have enjoyed the loyalty of our “facade geeks” who attend nearly every Facades+ event. Facades+ Washington D.C. brings together top professionals from the worlds of design, engineering, fabrication, and construction to consider how high-performance envelopes contribute to D.C.'s distinctive character and meet the city’s changing needs. We’d like to thank our conference Co-Chair, Gary Martinez, FAIA, who has helped curate this program of design leaders from a variety of fields. We invite you to connect with presenters and your peers during networking breaks in the Methods+Materials Gallery. Please get to know the industry-leading sponsors in the Methods+Materials Gallery and learn how they shape the future of building-facade technologies. Has Facades+ struck a chord with you? Have a look at our upcoming 2021 events held in cities across the country. Next we’ll be headed to Boston on October 26th and Los Angeles November 11th-12th. Also, mark November 2nd on your calendar for Tech+ Virtual, showcasing the future of technology in the AEC industry. You won’t want to miss it. Visit the Architect's Newspaper website to learn more about our other upcoming online events such as TimberCon, Re-use + Renewal, and Outdoor Spaces. We are eager to hear from you about how we might improve the Facades+ experience. Talk to us. And please spread the word—help us to continue to grow the Facades+ dialogue and community. All the best,
