Economy
RO-Economy THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WORSE, THINGS YOU SHOULD AND SHOULDN'T DO WHEN MONETIZING YOUR GAME. Mass criticism comes frequently to developers when they try to monetize there games. If its priced very high, they will receive backlash. If its priced low, they will not make sufficient income depending on the game and the buy-able feature of course. If there is too little they might also not make sufficient income, and if there are too many buy-able features in the game you'll end up like EA. Its a rocky road, but how do you navigate it? Well, you will want to start with stepping back and taking a look at your game, lets use a round action murder game for an example. You can have the option for buy-able credits or in-game currency, the beloved radio, and even VIP options the provide extra advantages (Make sure to keep them balanced, not too weak not too strong). You could also have the option of special seasonal or event skins for the weapons available for a Limited time purchase.
DONT: Cater only to the affording part the user base and fill up the game with unfair buy-able advantages
DO: Keep both the amount and the advantages of the buy-able options balanced
Another good idea would be to offer special sales and free skin codes as to not leave out the users that cant afford to buy such things, keeping both sides happy and satisfied. Now, simply take this example and relate it to your game. Of course some games may have different opportunities for monetizing, some more than others and some less than others, but nonetheless the principle is universal. By doing this you can keep your fans happy, and yourself happy as well, Cha-Ching!

Kingdom Life II, Kingdom Of Hreinngar Interview with loltheguy301
How long have you been developing on roblox? I started to take it seriously in the first quarter of 2012. So, 5 years. I started off with really small things. Making morphs, monsters, and trying to apply them to the player using free model morph buttons. I had no scripting knowledge yet, so I had to use those for the time due.
What do you do primarily? Well, nothing primarily. I'm a stand-alone developer and do everything on my own initiative. I have the most experience with modelling and 3D artwork, but I know my way around with scripting and UI work too. As for animations, it can use some practice; that I've done the least.
bloxInformer How did you get into learning how to model and 3d artwork and how hard was it for you? Generally, I was quite motivated by looking at other games and game developers, but the biggest motivation was the fact that I wanted a game that I would enjoy. I'm quite picky on what I play, so the reason I got into modelling and building on my own was to allow myself to make this world that completely satisfies my fantasy and imagination. Learning to build was a long process, but I feel like my eye for perfection and detail helped me to not give up and always be extremely critical with myself. I put the line high for myself, and always looked for ways to improve. Modelling (in Blender) was a natural step forward from CSG building; The logic of how it's done was already in me, so I just needed to learn how the program worked, and how to make things performance-efficient.
And that seemed like it paid off for you, the hard work and critical high standards. Because not only did you bring your imagination to life, but your brought others into this medieval world too, Kingdom Life is nothing short of a hit, 32M+ Place visits, 292K+ Favorites and 85k+ Likes, even still as we speak you have 1k+ people playing it. How does that feel to you? Well, they're only numbers. A game to me is only a success if it gives the people who play the game a good time. Even if that's 100 visits, 100,000 visits or a billion visits; What counts is the experience overall. I've had fans and players come to me to tell me that they not only enjoy my game, but my game has helped their personal life; As a coping method, as a learning method for language, behavioural lessons, and so on. That feels amazing. To know that my... essentially simple creation, has made so many people's lives better. This is something I got from playing a lot of games as a kid myself; I loved learning about history from Assassin's Creed (sometimes taken with a grain if salt), learning strategic and logical thinking from Total War, and cooperation with other people from games like Chivalry.
bloxInformer Its great that someone can personally help someone personally through a game they made like you said, it feels really amazing im sure. And it does bring back a little nostalgia when you look at it, all those games you played as a kid and thoughts you had when playing it come back kinda in a new form, the form of others playing it and getting those same feelings especially because the games fall in the same realm of what you did play back then. Now let's just take a look at your newest project which is already receiving a ton of light just from how good it is and the Armour and everything. Just crazy detailed, tell me a little bit on what you plan on doing with this game and what your gonna try to add to this that you didn't in the other one.
Well, where to start... The game is called Kingdom of Hreinngar. Hreinngar comes from the old Nordic word "hreinn" which means deer. The game is situated in a fantasy version of Scandinavia. Mostly a rough, dark and cold place. The point of the game is simple; make your character, and play your own story. Same as Kingdom Life II. Though here I made some upgrades. The customization has been pushed to its limits but not too far so it isn't overwhelming. You can now pick a weapon for each hand separately, and edit each one if those weapons. A bit like For Honor! You get a bunch of weapon parts that can be interchanged and combined. The world will be a lot more alive, too. The server cap is set to 100 players, and the map size is 9000 studs from North to South and 4500 studs East to West. I'm combining RP with adventure and collecting, too. You can buy more weapons parts if you want, but I will be putting artifacts around the game's world. You then need to get your friends, and find the parts put across the land of Hreinngar. This unlocks the parts in the customisation and allows you to get more unique weapon designs. The game gets its first BETA release on January 1st, following the motto "A new year, a new game". There will be a lot of updates throughout the year: An ability to save your character (including the weapons), fast traveling that allows you to unlock places by visiting them first, possibly NPC's and dialog, and so on.
bloxInformer
It sounds and so far looks absolutely amazing, just extremely immersive and that what we love about games like this. I know for a fact I cant wait for it and also know that thousands of others cant wait either. Well thanks for the interview and can't wait for Kingdom Life II, Kingdom of Hreinngar.

2017 BLOXY AWARDS ARE HERE.
WELL, IT'S ALMOST HERE AT LEAST. A year comes to an end and with it, the start of a new one. In short, 2017 was, monumental. It brought the the beginning of new changes, and marked the end of a lot of things. Many people made their mark, let their talent shine. And were recognized for doing so. Those people if lucky enough had the opportunity to win themselves a milestone that most if not all dream of getting, A Bloxy award. Controversy of course, comes with every public event. Talk of rigging and unfair or biased opinion sparked a rebellion like attitude within the community over the Bloxy's, one notably being how a clothing group that stole clothing managed to make it on the ballot. Rigged or Rigged? Well, that's an article for another time.

THE THEATER.
Built by Nocturne Entertainment
Fitting a whopping 5,000Â Robloxians, this theater definitely worthy of the Bloxy's hosting. With prices ranging from 500 to 50k though controversy once again rises. Whether it's worth it or not is a personal decision which doesn't and shouldn't decrease the overall beauty of the theater itself.

The Theater features 4 floors. The ground floor, which is accessible from the stage, and the 2nd floor staircase, The 2nd floor which can be accessed from the 3rd floor's side staircases, the 2nd floor staircase, and the 4th floor's door entry/exit point, and lastly the 4th floor which is only accessible through the 4th floors door entry which can be found on the end's of each section on the 2nd floor.
The ground, 2nd, and 4th floors The lighting looks very nice and is well done, Making the entire place much more appealing and really feels like a royal place to be. The tables and the carpet leading to that very detailed stage also is very appealing.. And lets not forget about those chandeliers. A little bit off the edge of the 4th floor are the infamous 50,000 balloon seats which are the equivalent of $175 USD. Received understandable controversy for being so high in price. Another complaint was that people being upset over the fact that you don't even go in the actual place, rather your avatar is modeled into your seat, not requiring your actual presence. This is merely an opinion as different people value different things. But a notable opinion nonetheless.

New Updates to Avatar Scaling and Proportioning Updates
Overview Roblox is introducing two new sliders to the avatar’s scale to control body shape and proportion: BodyTypeScale and BodyProportionScale. These values are used to control the overall shape of a character. BodyTypeScale
BodyTypeScale is a NumberValue attached to Humanoid that controls how much the character is to be modified from a standard R15 body shape. When set to 0, the character appears as a standard R15. When set to 1, the character is taller and more slender.
The current maximum value for this factor is 0.3. We will be allowing higher values for this setting in the future when we confirm that visual and physical targets are working well. BodyProportionScale
In addition to BodyTypeScale, BodyProportionScale determines the shape of the taller, more slender character. When set to 0, the body proportion is “wide,” taller, with broader shoulders. When set to 1, the body proportion is “narrow,” shorter with narrower shoulders. - From the Developer Forums,

THE MODERATION CRISIS.
You knew this was coming. YOU knew the MOMENT you made the bots do your bidding, that someone like me would come along and completely scold you about how TERRIBLE and BROKEN the system can be. Sit down, this is gonna be a fun ride. Chat filter was bad. Yeah it's still bad, maybe even worse. Will it get better? Yeah everything gets better overtime. But this is taking “bad” to a whole new level. NO ONE SHOULD BE BANNED, FOR SAYING YES. For a while now, users have been getting warned and even banned for nonsensical reasons such as “yes” or “no” or other words that have NO reason worth getting banned over. Not just this though, as developers have started to get warned and banned over models and decals. I would know, as twice now I myself have been warned over submitting default roblox rigs. But no this isn’t all personal, I speak on the part of all the robloxians when I say, this needs to end. I would say fix the system, but I know that robots and automated programs don't always work perfectly. And it is a hassle hiring more moderators for that type of thing. But as a billion dollar company Id say it worth it. The user base should not have to suffer for an internal problem. And to make it all worse, it's not just the overmodderation, but it's a combination of undermodderation too, with sometimes shocking ads and images popping up on the website, and staying there for days. In the end all we can do is keep trying to get light shed on the problem and hope for the best. This isnt a rant, its a cry for help. So again I hope SOMEONE is reading this, maybe put in the word for us. Again.

Community Spotlight When did you first start wanting to do YouTube videos and content creation in general?
SUDOSAK
Around in 2010, I saw a game on the front page called "Go Home." made by MisterObvious and saw that he had his youtube channel in the description of the game. When I searched up his channel, his content to me was absolutely hilarious. I have never seen anyone on youtube make funny roblox skits using their own voice, ever since then I made my channel in 2011 under the username "thereelwarman101" which was my previous ROBLOX username. Eventually I started watching other oldschool ROBLOX youtubers like Dayren, NatzHaks, Garmbot, Rizouification and Legocat5. To me they are heroes and have inspired me to become a ROBLOX YouTuber.
"Hoote Dog" by Kasodus What kind of content do you try to portray in your videos? Like the main focus and what does that stem from? My content recently has been all over the place, one minute I'm making a machinima next minute I'm making a detailed 14 minute long video about why this specific person should be exposed for their actions. In reality I've been trying to move over to the whole ROBLOX Filmmaking side of YouTube where I make original characters and have certain episodes or one long ROBLOX movie. It's been mainly inspired from the ROBLOXIWOOD community with great youtube channels such as Neverwakening Productions. 101stopmotion and captainmattthompson.
Community Spotlight How has the your YouTube channel helped you? And what do you like most about your fans and the community you have brought together? It's taught me a lot of things in life that school wouldn't have thought about as well as helped me make so many awesome new friends. I'm so happy to be able to entertain people with videos that I try to put my passion into. One thing that makes me real happy is that my fans are able to relate to me quite a lot as well as share the same opinions I do on Twitter.
My goals for 2018 is probably going to be surpassing my follower count from my old Twitter, upload a fulllengthed ROBLOX Film, 4k subscribers probably, as well as possibly a ROBLOX YouTube series. I'm also considering doing Jailbreak videos such as tips on how to rob the train and all that jazz. I haven't been trading much but I could possibly start making Trading videos as well but there's no promises on that heheh.

with xuefei123 Written by Turpichu4321 Hello there! Welcome to our interview for Archive Magazines. We would love to talk about your games which you have created but first, please tell us who you are and what you do on the Roblox platform. Hey Turpichu, I am called Xuefei. I have been developing on the Roblox platform for over 3 years. Awesome! You have said that you have been developing on the Roblox platform for a while. So, what do you make on the Roblox platform?
You are a great scripter on Roblox but for curiosity, how and where did you learn to script?
I mostly script games but however, I also build maps for my games and do graphics too.
Thanks for the compliment. I learn how to script mostly through collaborations and working on projects with my friends. I also got a handful of helpful information on the official Roblox wiki. Youtube tutorials are great tools to learn too, including mine. You can check my tutorials out on my youtube channel Its Xuefei
That is nice to hear! Have you made any successful games on Roblox before?
When and why did you start scripting on the Roblox Platform?
Yep, I have made quite a few such as Arrowz however, my most popular game has to be “I Spy!” which I created with my friend, SteadyOn. The game has over 2 million visits and has been put into the featured section by Roblox themselves which is an amazing achievement for us.
It’s a long story but here we go. Back in 2013, I opened up one of the Roblox place templates and inserted some free model tools and played it with my friends. Afterwards, my friend asked me whether I could add Khols Admin Commands to the game. This was my first experience with scripts and I was amazed and curious. The rest of the story is history.
NEVER GIVE UP! Wow, that is great information. Do you have any tips for any upcoming developers who are starting up on the Roblox Platform? First thing is. Never give up! Make friends within the Roblox Developer community and help them out, you can ask for help from them too. You don’t have to join the Roblox Developer community, there are many other helpful communities too such as a popular one called Scripting Helpers. It is a good community where scripters can help by asking or answering questions. If you want to become a builder, join the F3X Community where people can help you improve your building skills. That is awesome to hear! Before we go, let us ask you one more question. As it is the beginning of a new year, would you tell us your ambitions for this year? Of course. My ambitions for this year are to create more games for the Roblox platform, attend the official Roblox Developer Conference held in Europe and finish off high school.
That was very informative! I hope you can succeed your goals, I also have similar goals such as attending the official Roblox Developer Conference in Europe and finish some of my own games as well. It was nice having you with us and taking the time to talk to us. Thanks for coming! Â It was a pleasure talking to you as well. Bye!

Erik Cassel, Co-founder of Roblox December 16, 1967 – February 11, 2013
Create. Erik Cassel was a co-founder who worked side by side the development team while developing roblox. Before that, he helped create Interactive Physics which was what roblox was imagined off of. Erik Cassel and David Baszucki have a long history, one of which can’t be pieced together by mere researching. The bits that were dug up, deserved to be shared however, to remember the legacy of this man. Erik, even by David, was regarded as extremely smart, and talented. And that is right. His ideas, and skill helped contribute and build up the platform roblox is today. Many on the development team of roblox if not all, Marvel over what he could create, and how he could create in such a small time.
Erik in real life, “Erik’s unique talent was being able to instantly shift from rapid prototyping to delivering the highest quality production code. Erik built much of ROBLOX’s original web infrastructure, and we marvel today at how much it has scaled, and, especially, at how one person built so much, so well, in so little time. It is beyond unique.“ - Keith Lucas
“Beyond Unique”, Through research, that's what I think can perfectly sum him up as. Everything I’ve seen leads back to this, Kind and Humble man, with an unyielding passion for Helping people and Innovation. In the memorial blog post, it even says that once Erik found out he had cancer, he selflessly spent his time sharing and teaching to the roblox development team the skills that he had. Erik’s greatest quality was that of just being Nice. He always helped the newcomers on the team with learning and enhancing their skills, always had a smile on his face and always shared that smile with others. And although sadly I, and many others, will never be able to come to personally know Erik, It makes me feel good to know that such a person even existed. And all of us robloxians can thank him for him having helped create this beautiful creation we have come to know has Roblox. Thank you, Erik Cassel, and another thank you to his family for having created such a person. He is and will continue to be deeply missed.
