My site (blue) is roughly 2.1 miles away from Liverpool central (pink). This being a 34 minute walk away, or a short car, bus or train journey away.

Another place within close proximity is the Liver building (green), this is 1.6 miles away and a 22 minute walk, and only 6 minutes in a car.

2.2 miles away from my site is Everton park (red).

This is also a well known park near the city centre in which people would go to play sports. The park is a 31 minute walk away or 7 minutes in a car.

Material Study Around the site you will see a lot of old materials used, such as red brick which has weathered over time, rusted beams and metal plates.

Where buildings have been untouched for years Ivy has started growing in many spots also giving the area an older look to the buildings.

Many of the buildings will stay this way due to being listed, however with the stadium build on Bramley Moore dock i believe this will all change and a whole new modern look will come of Liverpool Ten streets, as new buildings and buisnessess relocate to the area for the busy match days.

Precedent 3 Beacon of light building The beacon of light building is a large building with an area of 11222m2 and it is located in Sunderland.

The building has several different sporting courts for different sports to be played and practiced.

The building was designed

by FaulknerBrowns Architects. The building has several different indoor and outdoor spaces as different pitches have different needs and to give different feels to each space, for example an outdoor football pitch with artificial grass, giving a feel of a football pitch.

Precedent 4 Splashpoint Splashpoint is a building designed around a large swimming pool which also has flexible spaces for other educational and sporting activities to take place. The building also has other spaces such as a cafe and a room for child care. The building has an area of 4600m2 and was designed by WilkinsonEyre and built in 2013.

Foundation detail This details shows the f oundations of my building, these being pile foundations.

These will be placed at the bottom of every steel column along the building. mainly made of concrete, with steel rebar through for extra strength.

I believe this is the best foundation for my building due to the size of the building, and the pile foundation works perfectly in conjunction with the lightweight steel frame i have chosen to use.
