SisterMaryZeta(Cor-wheresheworkedrightup bet)ofCountyClare,Ire-toMarch. land,diedonApril20,afterEachoftheSistershasa 36yearsspentinreligion.

ShecametoAustraliain 1924andhadworkedin WesternAustralianHouses oftheOrder,whileatSt. JohnofGodHospital,Kalgoorlie,shewasafflicted verysuddenlyandwas broughtdowntoPerth.

SisterMaryAnne(Carty) ofCountyWexford,Ireland, whodiedonMay2,had 31yearsasamemberof theOrder,arrivinginAustraliain1928.

Duringthattimeshe workedmainlyinthematernitysectionofthehospitals atGeraldton,Bunburyand Northam.

SisterAnnetookillat Subiacoandhadonly ceasedworkinginOctober lastyear.

NextyeartheSistersofthePresentationOrderwill celebratethediamondjubileeoftheirteachinginWestern Australia.SixtyyearswillhavepassedsinceMother Angela(Superioress),MotherJohn,MotherJosephand SistersPaulandColumbalandedatAlbanyandtooka 400milestrainjourneyinthemiddleofanexhaustingly hotJanuarytotheirdestination-SouthernCross.

Todaythefivefoundationmembersofthecommunityandmanyoftheir fellowSistersarenolonger withus.Buttherootsof theOrder,whichtheytransplantedinW.A.in1900 havesoflourishedthattodaytheOrderhassome70 nunsinthisState.

ThefoundationatSouthernCrosshasspreadtothe extentthatPresentation Sistersnowliveandwork forCatholicsandforChrist in14townsinW.A.

Anumberofpastpupils, headedbythe"OldIonians" Associationrecentlydeterminedtomarkthejubilee yearinanoutstandingway.

Knowingthesmallnessof thechapelat"Iona,"the headhouse,anditsinadequacyforthepresent-day needsoftheSisters,they calledameetingofexpupilsandfriendstodiscussthematter.

Averylargenumber answeredtheirinvitationto beat"Iona"forthepurpose.

Mother M. Bernard (MotherGeneral)welcomed thelargegathe-ingonbehalfoftheSisters.

MissJeanRice,thepresidentofthe"Iona"Old Girls'Association,wasnominatedtothechair.She saidthattheobjectofthe meetingwastodiscussways andmeansoflaunchingthe appeal.

Sheemphasisedthatthe presentchapel,apartfrom beingsharedwiththe students,wasinadequateto seatalloftheSistersbecauseofthelackofspace.

"Webelievethata.satisfactorychapelisanecessityfortheSisters.The presentone,whichhasbeen sovaluablefor60sears,is nowtoosmall,"MissRice said.

Mr.FrankMalonesaid thatithadbeenhisgood fortunetoreceivehisearly educationat"Iona."
