ThePremonstratensians, alsoknownastheNorbertineFathersaftertheir founder,willbecomingtotheArchdioceseattheinvitationofHisGracethe Archbishop. His theirGracehasgiveninto chargetheparishof York,wheretheyexpectto buildanabbey,thuscombiningthemonasticlife withparochialduties.

Thefoundationwillbe madefromtheIrishAbbey whichwasinauguratedasa Prioryin1924.Itwas foundedoriginallyfrom Tongerloo,Belgium,by Englishmembersofthe Order.

Whenitwasraisedto abbeystatusabout10years ago,AbbotCauldwellbecameitsfirstIrishsuperior. HehadbeenthefirstIrish studenttobeordaineda Premonstratensian.
