ThelateMonsignorFaganwasappointedfirstresidentpriestofVictoriaParkin1907.Hewassuceeded in1911bythelateDeanO'Reilly.WhentheDean diedin1916,theRev.H.Kearinwasappointedlocum tenforthelateFatherHayesduringhismilitary seeabroadwiththefirstA.I.F.
FatherHayesreturnedin1919andFatherKearin wastransferredtoBeverley,VictoriaParkparishat thatstageincludedBelmontandallthesettledareas toArmadale.
In1920theboys'clubwasbuiltandbecamea "churchofnecessity."
FatherHayeswastransferredtoBunburyin1929 andDeanKielysucceededtothechargeoftheparish.

London,Nov.5-TheBritishGovernment, pressedforactiononashelvedreportproposingeasierdivorce,announcedthatit wouldnotintroduceanynewlegislationon thematter.
LordMancroft,speaking fortheGovernment,told theHouseofLordsthatthe membersoftheRoyalCornmissidnwhichdrewupthe reportaretoodividedon importantpointsforthereporttobeacceptedasthe basisforanynewlaws.

In1939,HisGraceappointedhimVicar-General oftheArchdiocese.Hewas presidentoftheVictorian CatholicCentenarycelebrationswhichculminatedin theblessingin1939ofthe completedspiresofSt.Patrick'sCathedral.
In1944,Dr.Lyonswas appointedBishopof Christchurch(N.Z.)insuccessiontothelateBishop Brodieandwasconsecrated inSt.Patrick'sCathedral, MelbourneonJuly2,1944 byibGraceArchbishop Manillif.Aftersixyearsin Christchurch,BishopLyons wasappointedAuxiliaryto HisEminenceCardinalGilroyonMarch8,1950.
