Theyrealisedfullythatit wastheirdutytoinstruct thelittleonestoloveand. serveAlmightyGod,topreparethemsothatwhen theyleftschooltheycould taketheirplaceinthe world,tobecomegood,GodlovingcitizensintheCommonwealth.

FatherPowerhaddoneremarkablework,spiritually andmaterially,inthe parish.Evidenceofhis extraordinaryzea1 and energywastobeseenin thefineparishplantwhich hehadbuiltup,HisLordshipsaid.
Thoselatestadditionsto theschoolwouldensurethat everychildinthedistrict wouldhavetheopportunityofaCatholiceducation, andatthesametimethe building,whichhadgiven longandfaithfulserviceas achurch-school,couldnow beusedexclusivelyasa church-averydevotional andserviceablechurch, thankstotheextensiveremodellingandrenovations thathadbeendone.
FatherPowerhadwell saidthattheparishhadnow comeofage,continuedthe Bishop-itwasnowfully equipped.ButFatherPowerhadnotbeensatisfied withmaterialdevelopment andequipment.
Theyhadthereaparish ashighlyorganisedasany intheArchdiocese.There wereamplefacilitiesforattendingHolyMassandthe receptionoftheSacraments; theyhadthesocietiesand sodalities,theLegionof
picturedarrivingat P.
Maryandtheyouthmovements.
Therewasnoaspectof parishlifethathadbeen overlookedorneglected.All thathadbeenachieved,of course,onlywiththeloyal andgenerousco-operation ofthepeopleofthedistrict.
