Itwasagreedthatit wouldbeimpossiblefor FatherFitzmauricetovisit eachofthemetropolitan branchesanditwasproposedthatheshouldattend meetingsatstrategiccentres whichwouldbeconvenient forneighbouringbranches' memberstoattend.

V.Rev.P.Nolan,O.S.M., sincerelythankedallthose whohadworkedtomake thefeteasuccess,together withthosepeoplewhohad supportedthefunctionby theirattendance. HetoldthemthatHiswas thechoiceofwhowastobe anofficerinHisChurch: "YouhavenotchosenMe: butIhavechosenyouand haveappointedyou,that youshouldgo,andbring forthfruit ."
Itwasevidentinthe electionofasuccessorto Judas,thatthefirstmembersoftheChurchrealised thatGodhadreservedthe righttocallapersontofollowHim,forwereadthat achoicewasnecessarybe-tweenBarsabasandMatthias:
"Andpraying,theysaid: ThouLord,Whoknowest theheartsofallmen,show whichofthesetwoThou hastchosen."
Whilstconsideringita dutytotesttheapparent callgiventoapersontobe a thepriest,Brother,orSister, acknowledgedChurchhasalways thefinalright
ofGod,theLordofthe harvest,tomakethechoice oflabourers,andshehas exclaimed:"Blessedishe whomThouhastchosenand takentoThee." Generoussoulstoo,have realisedtheoriginofthe invitationwhichtheyso readilyaccepted,and thoughtssimilartothefollowinghavepassedbetween themandGod:"Heream I:forThoudidstcallme SpeakLord,forThy servantheareth." BecauseonlyGodcan giveavocation,thosewho thinktheyhaveone,or wouldliketohaveone, shouldprayhardtoHimfor suchablessing. Anotherresultisthat thereisnogeneraldanger thatapriest,Brotheror Sistermaytalkavocation intotheheadofanyboyor girl.
Theymayhoweverin-
fluencesuchaonetothink andprayonthematter, whichactiondoesnotinterferewithGod'srightorthe person'sownfreechoice.
