Ithasbeenrevealedhere thattheStategovernment hasbeenattemptingtostifle Catholiceducationbydenyingfinancialaidtomore than100Catholicschoolsin theJashpurdistrict.

Thegovernment,itwas alleged,tookthefollowing stepsto"kill"theCatholic schools:
Itestablishedanalmost equalnumberofState schoolsinthesamearea withpublicfunds. TeachersoftheCatholic schoolswereattractedto governmentinstitutionsby offersofbettersalariesand otherfacilities. Thesameteacherswere refusedrecognitionasteachersiftheyremainedinthe Catholicschools. Itsmembersaremainly popularRepublicans(MRP), IndependentsandDeGaul lists.
Thatinfluencehadextendedthroughthemany priests,brothersandnuns whowereworkinginthe VineyardofOurLordin variouspartsoftheworld, andthroughmanylaymen' also.
Heaskedthemtopray thatinIndiatheChurch, whichwasstrongandvigorous,wouldgroweven stronger.Theyhadintheir Constitutionallthefundamentalrightstopractise, withoutanydifficulty,their Faith.
Forthatreasontheywere abletohaveinIndiaso manysplendidandextraordinarymanifestationsof theFaith.
