AttheLastSupper,bread becametheBodyofChrist asitthenwas,living,as yetuntouchedbythe woundsofCalvaryand,of course,withHisblood coursinginHisveins.Suppose,however,thatSt. PeterhadsaidMasstwo dayslaterwhenChrist's deadbodywasinthetom. thenthebreadwouldhave becometheBodyofChrist asitthenwas,lifeless, mangledandlargelybloodless.Similarlythewine wouldhavebecomethe BloodofChristwithout HisBody,spilledduringthe PassionandnotyetreunitedtoHissacredbody.
