OnSunday,theFeastofChristtheKing, inbrilliantsunshine,acrowdestimatedat over10,000attendedtheannualEucharistic processionatAquinascollege,Mt.Henry.

Peoplebegantocongregatefrom10a.m. onwards,andmanyofthemtravelledlong distancestobepresent.Aheavystreamof trafficpassedintothecollegegroundsbetweennoonand2.30p.m.Thegatestothe collegeclosedtotrafficat3.15p.m.

Buseswereheavilytaxedtotransport thelargecrowdsstillwaitinginthecity.

Shortlyafter2o'clockthepeoplebegan tomossinthenewovalbetweenthecollege andtheriver,wherethealtarhadbeen erected.TheBlessedSacramentwaspresentlyexposed.Alittlebefore3.30the processionbegantomoveroundtheoval.

HeadedbythebannerofChristthe King,theprocessi.on,inwhichthemajority ofthosepresentmarched,movedreverently aroundtheplayingfield,recitingtheRosary andsinginghymns.Almostanhourwas takentopassagivenpoint.

Followingthebearersofthebannersin theprocessionweretheboysofAquinascollege,and,followingthemthemembersof thelaity,whowereunattachedtoanysociety,membersoftheHiberniansociety,the IrishNationalForesters,ChildrenofMary, th,,,SacredHeartsodalities,1,500members oftheHolyNamesociety,theThirdOrder ofSt.Fronds,theThirdOrderofMt.Carmel,BrothersandotherReligious,flowerstrewers,precedingtheBlessedSacrament, andfinallytheArchbishop,carryingthe BlessedSacramentbeneathawhitecanopy.

St.Charleswasbornin 1538anddiedattheageof forty-sixin1584.Hisbirth camejusttwenty-oneyears afterLutherhadstartedhis so-calledReformationwhich broughtdevastationintothe Fold.TheChurchwasina deplorablestateandnever wastheresuchpressing needforanorthodoxreformer.

Attendingwereabout100 legalexpertsfromallparts oftheWorld.HisEminence MauriceCardinalFeltin, ArchbishopofParis,presidedatthefinalsession,at whichamessagefromthe HolyFather,writtenby Msgr.GiovanniB.Montini, VaticanPro-Secretaryof State,wasread.

ItwasnotCatherine's fault,andherconfessorhad delayedbecausehewas checkingcarefullyonthe youngnun'sstatements. ToldoftheBlessedMother's displeasure,hewentatonce totheArchbishopofParis, andsoonthefirstmedals weremade.

ThedeathofMather Aladelin1865leftSister Catherinewithoutaconfessor,andshereceivedanotherapparitionfromthe BlessedMothergivingher permissiontotellhersuperioraboutthevisions.
