Thereare80,000menandwomenmissionariesin some600missionterritoriesoftheChurch.There,the Church.throughthehandsofthesemissionaries,is buildingschools,churches,hospitals,orphanages,and evenhomesfortheprecioussoulsthattheworldhas neglected.
Inasenseeachcontributortothemissionsonthis comingSundayisformingthebricksandmortarfor thatvastmission-buildingprogrammethattheChurck hasinoperation.Morethanthat,withtheprayers andalmsofferedthisSunday,Catholicswillbehelpingthemissionariessnatchthesoulsoftheirfellow, menfromtheforcesofevilandbringthemtotheconsolationsofthefaithinChrist.
Thosewho,thoughtheycanaffordit,refuseto becomemembersoftheSocietyforthePropagationof theFaith,havecauseforprofoundshame,fortruly thesparkoffaiththatonceglowedintheirhearts maybenearlyextinct.Bybaptismeachoneofus wasconstitutedamissionary,notperhapsinthesame senseasthosewhoareactivelyworkingonthemissionfield,butinthenolessrealisticsensethateach oneofusischargedwiththemissionofbringingmore soulstoGod.Withoursimplehumbleprayersand ourmeagreofferingswecandojustthat:Bringmore soulstoChrist.Wearenotasgoodastheoriginal Apostles,buttherearemoreofus.
