SpiritualTraining
Andso,in1942.thesetwo perfectionistsinmusicentereduponthelifeofreligiousperfection,andtheGay twinsbecameSisterJeanne MadeleineandSisterFrancisTerese.Theybrought withthemtotheirnew modeoflifenotonlytheir remarkablemusicaltalents, butalsotheircheerfuldispositionsandtheirunlimitedcapacityforhardwork. Nodoubtattheiragethey foundtheminutiaeofthe novitiateirksomeattimes.
However,theyentered intoitsspiritwiththoroughness,andsetaboutits observancewithasteadfastnessandcheerfulnessthat wereaninspirationtoall.

beautyandgoodnessandmotherandblindfatherhad beenvisitingthemforafew days,andaccompaniedthem ontheirweeklytriptoChicago.Allwentwell,but astheynearedMilwaukee inthelateafternoonthey encounteredthecity'srecordsnowstorm.Withhundredsofotherstheywere strandedintherailroadstation,foralltransportation hadcometoadeadstop. Theirplight,however,was relievedbyaCatholicgentlemanofkindlydisposition. Withhisvigourandefficiencyhecaredforthefamilyforthenexttwodaysand becametheirclosefriend. Whentheblindandenfeebledfathertoldofhis lonesomenessandexpressed thewishthathecouldhave hisdaughters'playingrecordedforthephonograph asasubstitutefortheirpresenceathome,thenewlyfoundfriendassuredhim thathewouldsatisfythe wishassoonaslifesettled backtonormal.

IntheopeningsectionoftheConstitution,the historyoftheEucharisticFastissketchedatfair lengthandthestrictnessofthelawstronglyemphasised.
Withoneimportantmodificationconcerningthe useofwater,thetenoroftheecclesiasticallawis maintained,asformulatedintheCodeofCanonLaw.
Concessionsaremade,however,infavourof priestsandfatihful,whofindthemselvesinparticularcircumstances,andalsoinviewofeveningMasses,whichmaynowbeauthorisedeverywherebythe localBishopswithincertainlimits.
