Manyboyswhowould makegoodtradesmenare thuscondemnedtoonly mediocresuccessina "white-collar"job.Aboy whowantstobeabrick layer,shouldnotbecompelledtobeadraftsman, especiallyifhehasneither thetastenorthetalentfor drawing,orforadvanced studies.
Moreover,itisconsding toknowthattheCatholic Faithisnotanexclusiveclubforsaintlypeople.Itwascreatedby Christforhelpingsinners nottobeovercomebysin. For.mostmenbattleonthat borderlinebetweenthepossessionandforfeitureof God'sgrace.

Theyareobsessedwiththe goalof"security"aboveall others.Thereareverygood reasonsforrecommending thePublicService,especiallytocertaintypesofchildren,butforaladofcourage,initiative,smartnessandindependence,theremaybebetteropportunitiesinpri- vateindustry.Itcannotbe regardedasdesirablethat somanyCatholicchildren shouldbetrainedtoplay safe,andtoavoidindepen-denceandresponsibility.
