Sheadvocated most stronglythenecessityfor thepracticeofthequali- tiesofrespect, courtesy, modesty, andthoughtfulness.

Toooften,shesaid,peo- plefoundthemselvesonthe brinkofengagementand marriagewithoutanypre- parationfinancially.Unless habitsofextravagantand uselessspendingwereeliminatedinyouthandcourtship,theywouldpersistin marriageandwouldresult inunhappiness.Shesaid

Aftereachtalk,groups discussedthepointswhich hadbeenputbeforethem bythespeakers.Fromthe discussionreportsitappearedthattheyhadconsideredverycarefullythq questionofobedienceto parents;thehonourandrespectduetothem;the necessityofrealisingtheir obligationstothemfinancially;thequestionofhelpingthemsothatperhaps thehusbandandwifewould beabletospendsometime together;theinclusionof parentsintheirleisuretimeactivities,andtheobligationsincharitytosisters andbrothers.

Finally,FatherBourke madeafewobservationson themoreimportantpoints ofdiscussion.Firstly,he saidthatonecriticismof youthMovementswasthat theytookyoungpeople awayfromthehome. They shouldconsiderthat, and giveafairlylargepropor- tionoftheirleisuretimeto theirparents, whoreceived muchpleasurefromtheir
