VATICANCITY,Oct.6(NC).-An'implacablepersecution"whichisdestroyingCatholicundertakingsincertaincountries,makesitmorenecessarythaneverforCatholicstosupport themissions,ArchbishopCelsoCostantini,secretaryoftheSacred CongregationforthePropagationoftheFaith,statedinhisannualMissionSundayappeal.

TheArchbishoprecalled thatatthepresenttime manyBishopsandmissionariesarewastingawayin .prisons."Itiswithreverencethatweturnour thoughtstotheseevangelicalheraldswhoare'countedworthytosufferdisgrace forthenameofJesus,"he added.

"Theconstancyofour missionariesandofournativepriestsandChristians istrulyadmirable.Wehave theaccountofaBishopwho inareplytoanatheistic propagandistsaid:'Youmay killusbutyouwillnotseparateusfromRome.'

"AnotherBishopwrote: 'Priestsandfaithfulare moststronglyresolvedto defendtheirfaithandto provetheirinseparableattachmenttotheSupreme

ResponsetotherequestofthecommitteefororganisedparishtransportfortheAnnualEucharisticprocessionatAquinas collegeontheFeastofChristtheKing(Oct.28)hasbeensosatisfactorythatitisanticipatedthatarecordcrowdwillattend. Indicationsarethatas manyas60privatelycharteredbuseswillaugment thefrequentGovernment busservicewhichwilloperatefromtheoldG.P.O.

Threeparisheswilluse rivertransport,parishioners beingconveyedbyboatto theAquinascollegelandingstageontheCanning. Severalcountrycentres, amongstthemNortham, Sunbury,WaginandDardanup,willsendstrongrepresentationbybusandcar.

GeneralAssembly:3.15p.m.

Generalassemblywillbe at3.15p.m.,whenthecollegegateswillbeclosedto allvehiculartraffic.All groupsarerequestedtoassemblebehindtheirrespec-tivebanners.Thereafter theywillbeinthehandsof themarshals,whoseinstructionsshouldbepromptlyandaccuratelyfollowed. Therouteoftheprocession willbethesameasinformeryears,theoutdooraltar beingerectedatthecollege endoftheoval.

Specialplaces,towhich theywillbedirectedbythe marshals,arereservedin theprocessionforallsodality,society,youthand schoolgroups.Attendance ofschoolchildrenindistinctiveschoolgroupshas beendisappointinginthe pastfewyears,due,no doubt,tothefactthat,duringthewarandimmediate post-waryears,transport wassodifficultthattheattendanceoflargenumbers ofchildrenwasdiscouraged.Now,however,that conditionshaveimproved, itishopedthatallschools willmakeaspecialeffortto berepresentedintheprocessionbehindtheirown schoolbanners. Addressingthemembers'attheconclusionofthetea, Mr.Foleyoutlinedthe growthofthesocietyinthe world,andsaidthatinthe ArchdioceseofPerththere were67branches,anda totalmembershipof3,939. Hesaidtheexecutivehad greathopesthatbeforethe endoftheyearthetotalwouldincreaseto4,000,and 'heappealedtotheBunbury branchtodoeverythingin itspowertoassisttheexecutiveinreachingthisgoal.
