HisGracereviewedDr. Goody'sexcellentrecordin theArchdiocesesincehis ordination.Hepointedout thatHighgatewaswell-deservingoifthehonourof havingtheAuxiliary Bishop-electasitsparish priestonaccountofitslong andoutstandingrecordfor pietyandloyalty.
TheArchbishoppaida hightributetoformerpastorsaudadministrators, especiallythelateFather CrowleyandDeanWallace. Thebesttestimonytotheir excellentworkwasthe
splendidparishplantchurches,schools,ahall,a presbyteryandaconvent.
Thesterlingworksof Brothersandnunsinthe schoolswarrantedtheclosest co-operationoftheparents.
HisGrr.ceconcludedwith aspecialwordtotheyoung peoplecftheparish.He exhortedthemtojointhe youthmovements,the Y.C.W.andtheN.C.G.M. Whatthesemovementswere tryingtodoneededthecooperationofeveryCatholic adolescentiftheywereto succeed.
Dr.Goody,inabrief reply,thankedtheArchbishopforhispresencethat dayandforhiskindlyremarks.Heassuredtheparishionersthat,sofarasit layinhispower,hewould endeavourtocarryonthe magnificenttraditionsthe parishenjoyed.

PalmyrachurchonSundays,sothatthebusservicewouldcontinueuntil thenewApplecrossparish wasopened. Hewasafaithfulsonof OurLady,andhadgreat faithinthedailyRosary, and,whenpossible,the familyRosary.
