ImmaculateConception DefinedBeforeLourdes

Thenextquestioncanbeansweredverybriefly.Itisthis:

Thereisreasontobelieve thatthe"bourgeoisnationaldeviationism"theCommunists chargeismanifestingitselfin Czechoslovakiagoesdeeperthan manysuspect.Therearedefiniteindicationsthatithaspenetratedallclassesofthepopulation, thosewhowerealways faithfultotheidealsofthe Westandthosewhoarenow convertedfellow-travelersand ex-Communists.Therehasbeen agradualawakeninginCzechoslovakiatotheultimateconsequencesofthecommunist regime.

Consequently,itcanbestated authoritativelythatthesentimentsoftheaverageCzechoslovaktodayacesodeeplyimpregnatedwiththedemocratic spiritoftheWest,thatthey couldhardlybeusedasfirstlinesoldiersinanyEast-West conflict.Ifsuchanattempt weremadetousethem,there wouldbedesertionsonamass scale.Suchdesertionsalready aregoingonasmallscale.
