Father O'Donnell, who was a beloved figure to hundreds of Irish priests in Mission fields all over the world, was a native of Tooinevara, Co. Tipperary, where he was born in 1864. He was appointed President of All Hallows in 1909, and he retained that office until 1948 and died a year later.
