Thetwohadji.istcomefrom Singaporewherethelegaldisputetodeterminewhether Berthashouldbereturnedto hermotherorremainwitha Malayanfostermotherand Moslemhusbandhadtouched offmobviolence.
Berthawaspermittedtoreturnherewithhermotherby authoritiesinSingaporewith thestipulationthatshemust returntoSingaporeifacourt ofappealsdecisionshouldgo againstthemother.
Amongthosewaitingtogreet theplanewereMr.Hertog, Bertha'sfather,andherthree sistersandthreebrothers.
Initsdecisionthecourtsaid:
"Notonlybythelawofthe colonybutalsobyMohammedanlaw,underwhichthe marriagewaspurportedto havebeensolemnized,Bertha wasnotaMohammedansince thefatherhadneverabrogated hislegalrightoverhernor consentedtotheembracingof theMoslemfaithbythechild."

Recentweekshavewitnessed considerableLegionactivityat migrantcampswhere10baptismshavebeenarrangedfor inoneday.
Thelittleladswhowerenow beginningtoreturnhadenthusiastictalestotellofthedelightsofbeachpicnics,parties, concertsandincredibleamounts andvarietiesoffood-stuffs.It wasplainthateveryoneof themhadhadawonderfultime. Theirtemporaryfoster-parents musthavefeltthatvirtuewas itsownrewardastheysawthe tangibleappreciationofthe littleorphanboys.
