Wemustworkandwemustpray thatourdishonoured,disowned, andrejectedKingmayonce moretakeHisrightfulplaceas KingofnationsandasKingof men.Howarewenow,you Catholiclaymen,tohelpinthis grandwork,Brothers,Iwould saytoyou,holdnotthelanguage offear.Arethetriumphsof otherdaysnotpossibleinour times?TheChurchisthesame to-dayaswhenSheoverthrew paganRome.

ButthecauseofChrististhe causeofpeace,nottodestroybut tosave,nottopulldownbutto buildup.ThecauseofourKing isthatselfsamecauseforwhich Hewalkedonearth,thecause forwhichHedied.Thebattle weareaskedtofightintheserviceofourKingisabattle againstthepowersofevil,intentondestroyingtheworkof redemption.

SIDELIGHTS.

Oneofthemanysidelightsof theAquinasProcessionwasthe participationofseveralnative andhalf-castechildreninthe function.Surelyaboveall otherstheyhadtherighttobe present,andwhoknows,perhaps onedayitmaybethat,through thesechildrennowbeingeducatedinCatholicschools,themessageandtheKingshipofChrist maybetakentotheirownpeople.

ThemigrantladsfromClontarfBoys'Townprovokedvery favourablecomment.Neatly dressedintheirmaroonblazers,

theywereanexampletoallof neatnessanddevotion.Thousands efmilesawayfromtheirhomes andfamilies,theywereonce moreunitedtotheminspiritas theKingdomofChristadmitsno boundariesnormakesdistinction ofnationorofrace.

RepresentingastheydidGreat BritainandIreland,theyprovidedyetanotherlinkinthe chainwhichbindsusalltothose countries,thesourcesofour Faith,alinkofcommonservice andallegiancetotheKingof Kings,inwhoseservicepeaceand securityarefound.

Nealroadsandparkingplaces areurgentlyneededtoaccommo.atepilgrims,whohavetotalled asmany;as100,000inasingle (lay.

Ecclesiasticalandartauthoritieslonghaveknownthatthe Rev.AndreaPozza,aJesuitand rankingartistof300yearsago, hadpaintedahugealtarpiece forth.1church,atthattimeattachedtotheUniversityofVienna.Butsometimeinthelast centurythelastmentionofthe workwasmadeinofficialre, cords,andsincethenthepaint-

ing'sfatehasbeenonaoftheart mysteriesofVienna.

BetweenthetimeFatherPozza paintedthealtarpiece,depicting theAssumptionofOurLady,and itsdisappearance,theViennese painterKupelwieserportrayed theAssumption,Kupelwieser's paintinghungatthealtar.

Persistentinvestigationbythe StateOfficefortheConservation ofAncientMonumentsandby Jesuitauthoritiesrevealedthe painting-coveredbyKupelwie,er's.Expertshaveremovedit fromitsworm-eatenframeand arerstoringthebrillianceofits originalcolours,afterwhichit willbeplacedoverthealtar.

TheKupelwieseraltarpiece willbeplacedinanotherVienna church.

LONDON,Sept,28-(NC).Sentenceof18years'imprisonmentwasimposedupontheRev. AntoninZemek,Priorofthe DominicanMonasteryatZnojmo (Znaim)inSouthernMoravia, accordingtoaPragueradioannouncementmonitored here, FatherZemekandnineotherpereons,bothreligiousandlaymen, wereaccusedofhavingheped Czechoslovakpoliticalrefugeesin escapingacrosstheborderinto Austria,andofhavingbetrayed militarysecrets.

Oneoftheaccused,amerchant,identifselasFrantisek Skrapa,wasalsosentencedto18 years,theothereightreceiving prisontermsrangingfrom2to 15years.Thetrial,whichtook placeatBrno,capitalofMoravia,wasoriginallyscheduledto lastthreeweeks.Sentencewas passedaftertwodays.

ThePragueradioalsoreportedonthreetrialswheredeacon. iansentenceswereimposedon theaccused,manyofthemyoung personsandstudentscharged withhavingworked"fortheAmericancounter-intelligenceservice,"distributing"subversive leaflets"andother"anti-state" activities.

Newsreceivedherefrom Czechoslovakiareportsfeverish policeactivityinPragueand otherplacesinconnectionwith the"purge"oftheSokol,Czech fraternalgymnasticassociation, membersofwhichdemonstrated, theiroppositiontotheCommunist-dominatedregimeduringthe StatefuneralfortheformerPresidentEduardBenes.Many Sokolleaderssuspectedof"disloyalty"tctheregimehavebeen removedfromtheirposts.

Thereportsreceivedheresay thatthenumberofthosearrestedcannotbeestimated,butpersonslivingclosetopoliceheadquartersinPraguedeclarethat eachdaytruckloadsofpeople aretakenthereforinterrogation.
