St.Patrick'sDaycelebrationswere heldonSaturdayibthintineweatherbysportsandademonstrationon theAgriculturalGround.Theattendancewasverylarge.Thefoot racesinclude'.Championshipevents inconnectionwiththeAmateurAthleticAsseciatienof.NewSouthWales. SecretaryMr.T.J.O'Brieninformed themeetingthattheImmoralLiteratureConferencehadbeenarrangedto takeplace0ThThursdayeveningnext 14e12intheTownHallandasadvisedlastweekChiefJusticeand Lieut.-Gov.SirJohnMaddenwill Preside. Thismatter,togetherwithotherinjusticesaffectingnon-Stateschoolsis claimingtheseriousattenticnofthe A.C.F. ThescarcityofCatholic Teachersthatisbeingexperiencedin CatholicKchoolswaskeenlydiscussed.BytheoperationofNo.10of theEducationPlatform,(copy- of whichisherewithappended),which says:"Thatitshouldbetheduty ofeachParishCounciltoProvidea largerEducationFund,sothatthe teachersinCatholicSchoolsmaybe betterpaid."Thecommitteehope tobuildupasubstantialfundin Parishessoastoimprovenotonly wagesbuttheconditionsunderwhich theteacherswork.Asuggestionwas putforwardbytheSub-Committee, thattheA.C.FederaticashouldofterscholarshipstoencouragecandidatesfortheTrainingColleges.'this willbefinallyconsideredatthenext meeting.TheLloydcasesarenow attractingtheattentionofthePublichere,sincetherecenttroubleexPeriencedatSeymour.Withregard tothequestion,ScholarshipsandGovernmentMedicalexaminationsfor non-Stateschools,aDeputationwas appointedtowaitupcntheMinister ofEducationassoonascouldbe arranged.

Longbeforeeleveno'clocktherewas anunwontedstiratthewesternend ofBcnrkeStreet.Itwasthewinding-upofthehugemany-coloured skeinwhichwhenunwoundwasto stretchfortwomileswithouta break.Almosttotheminutethe processiongotunderwaswiththe IrishPipersatitshead.Theorder oftheprocessionwastheIrishPipers'Band,juvenilebranchesH.A.C.B. -SocietySt.VincentDePaul'sBand, theArchbishop'scarriage,bannerof St.Patrick'sSociety,National Club'sHibernianAustralaSianCatholicBenetSocietySt.Patrick'sLadies'Society,IrishNaticnalForesters:andmountedhorsemen. The carriageofArchbishopCarrwas drawnbyhorseswithgreenrosettes onthebridles.TheArchbishopwas accompaniedbyBishopCorbett,MonsignorPhelan,andtheChancellorof theArchdiocese(theRev.JohnMcCarthy). Therewasamomentary haltatthetopofBourke-street, wheretheArchbishopturnedtolook backontheprocession,whichwas stillstretchedamilebehind.Ashe didsoringingcheerscamefromthe crowd.HisGrace,whowaslookingverywell,waswearingabunch ofsharnroc'es.theHibernianwere intreatforce,twenty-ninebranches beingrepresented.TheIrishNationalFeresterswerewellrepresented fourteenbranches,besidestheladies' branches,thattravelledingaily-decorateddrags.Itwasinthislatter-partoftheProcessionthatScotian',too,wasrepresented. TheProcessionwhichstartedfrom St.Patrick'sChurchintheafternoon wasalargeandrepresentativeone.
