Thepolite,punctual,neat,genial andpiousFatherKielyseemstyhave beencutoutforBoulderParish. SomeyearsagowhenhewasherehS CuratehecompletelywontherespectfulaffectionoftheBoulderpeople.Theyweresorrywhenhewas transferredtoBunbury,buttheyrejoicedagainwhenhecametoKalgoorliesometimeafterwards.When Busseltonclaimedhimandhadthe privilegeofhisministrations,both BoulderandKalgoorlieregrettedhis departurefromthe'Fields.Hewas alwaysandeverywhereatruePriest. Howevertheirsorrowwasturnedintoexultantjoy,whenDr.CloneaPpointedFatherKielytotakechercr oftheBoulderParish.Thatitwas animportant,apopular.andawise appointmentwasconclusivelyproved toallthosewhowitnessedthesuccessfulceremoniesatBoulderonlast Sunday.
FatherKielyisonlyafewmonths inchargeofBoulderParish,buthe hasliterallydonewondersduring thattimeandthegreatfeatureof hisadministrationisthegradualAdvanceofParochialworkandtheunpretentiousmannerofthePriest hileself.

appealwasfoundtobewarmerand moresubstantialthanthatifany otherParishintheDiocese-noteven exceptiagtheirbig,rich,nethhoeringsister,Kalgoorlie-Aellaise).I onlyregretthatsomeofmypredecessors,especiallethosewhodid mostofthepioneeringwoe-.arenot hereto-daytowitncesthislatest roofofthegenerosityofthepeople ofBoulder.Asyet,Icennotsay exactlywhatthebuildingwillcost, thematterwasinthehandsofa Committeeofpracticalmenwho couldbereliedontohavethework donethoroughlyandatthesmallest
thisday,andhadcometocelebrate therealisationoftheirardentlonging.Onethoughttheyshouldconnectwiththebuildingofanewchurch wasthattheywerebuildingahome forOurBlessedLord.Theydecoratedtheirownhomesandmadethem neatandtidyandcomfortable,and surelyasCatholicstheyshouldbe evenmoreanxioustohavethebuilding ellt neatlyfurnishedandbeautifully equipped,inwhichtheKing of Glorywastodwell.Everymanwho hadsubscribedtothe£1700already raised,andwhowouldsubscribelateron,shouldrememberthathewas subscribingtoahomeforChrist. Thefactthattheywerecalledupon toequipandfurnishahomeforthe Godwhogavethemeverything shouldstimulatetheirgenerosity', shouldwarmtheirhearts,andmove themontoleavenothingundone,so thatonthedaythechurchwasopeneditshouldbefreefromdebt. 'WhenSolomonbuilthistempleall natureandnationswereleviedfor tribute.TheminesofOphirgave uptheirgold,theseagaveupits Pearls,andskilfulworkmeninfresco andcornicefilledthebuildingwith beautifuldesigns.Nationswerelaid undertributetobuildatemplethat wasworthyofthegloryofGod, andwaslittobeashrineforGod. NotonlyisFaithlightlythought ofnowadas,hutitslossisseldom seriouslyconsidered,seldomornever bitterlylimentedasthelossofparent,ofchild,offortune,orofbusiness.Heartsarebroken,tearsare shed,andtimeisspentinregretting thesevariouslosses,hutwhatare anyorallofthemincomparison withthelossoftheFaith? But,alas,how manybarterand trampleuponthis bestofallgifts forsomesensual gratification,some earthly some passing worldlyconsideration!.Andwhy isthis? Simply h?causetheydo rotunderstandits value, beeaus:, theyhavenever beenpenetrated withatruesense Ititsimportance, itsaecessit,and itsrriceless112ssings.
OUR FIRST DUTY ISTO AVOID THE UNGERSwhich haveledothersto thelossofthe Faith.Whatc.re those dangers, thoseperils,those Pitfallsoverwhich othershavefallen headlong,shatteringeveryvestige oftheirFaith? redHeart,theHolyMotherofclod andtheSaints.Godisforgotten bythegreatofthisworld,because theyhavenotrue,no'rightknowledgeofGod.Howcanamanor awomanholdfastandclingtothe FaithifhedoesnotknowandbelievethattheFaithisthebestgift ofGod.
Ifayounggirlhasnotatrue knowledgeoftheFaithandanidea ofitsallimportance,howwillshe
ongthemandaskweretheywell trainedintheirFaith?Youwill findthatinninecasesoutoftenthey hadonlyaveneer,ashallowfaith,a superficialknowledgeofCatholic Truth:-"THEYKNEWNOTTHE GIFTOFGOD."
Ontheotherhandlookatthose whohavebeenbroughtupinthetrue Faithandwhohavebeenproperb, groundedinitsdoctrines! No bribe,nooffer,noreward,willever inducethemtobetraytheirfaithor topartwiththispricelessgift.
ANDTHISBRINGSUSTOTHE ALL-IMPORTANTSUBJECT,-namely,theantidote;namely-tohavethe childrentaughtandgroundedthoroughlyinallthedoctrinesofthe trueFaith. Wemustknowour Faiththoroughly;wemustbecourageouslyreadytodefendit. We mustnotbeafraidoftheshaftof ridiculeorthejibeoftheinfidel,or thescornoftheworldling. We mustbuyandreadandmeditateuponCatholicliterature,wemustrespectandhonourCatholicpictures.
