FatherHennessy.P.P.,hadbeen tirelessinhisworktobringinto existencetheinstitution.Thathe hadmetwithremarkablesuccess inhiseffortswasshownattheclose oftheproceedingswhenitwasannouncedthatover£r000hadbeen donatedwithintwenty-fourhoursto theBuildingFund,exclusiveof£700 raisedbyaBazaarInaidofthe sameobjectheldduringshowweek, lastmonth.FatherHennessyexpectstohavethehospitalreadyfor oPeninsineightmonths'time.

TheRev.FatherFlynn,when preachinginconnectionwiththe nineteenthanniversaryoftheconseIcrationoftheedifice,mentioned thatSt.Patrick'sCathedralhadcost £5o,000todate,andthattheexe Penditurehadextendedoveraperiodofoverhalfacentury.Thecontractsforthecompletionofthecathedralwouldcomprisetheerection ofthetowersandspires,andthe hangingofapealofhells.Itwas estimatedbyFatherFlynnthatths wholeoftheworkwouldcostabout EI2,000.

Despitethejaundicedreportsof Torygossip-mongerstheIrishpeople havestoodbytheirlegitimaterepresentativeswiththeiraccustomed frdelity.

NorthLouthhasrejectedtheirrepressibleTimHealyafterabitter fight.ThebrilliantlittleTimhas beenridingforafallforalong whilepast.-hehasgotit.Ifit willbethemeansof,bringinghim intothepathwaysof''sweetreasonableness"Irishmenabroadwillnot hesorry.Undoubtedlyhispresence wil!hemissedatWestminster,where

AtaspecialcourtinDrogheda,PatrickF.Collierhasbeen,sentenced totwomonths'imprisonment.indefaultoffindingbail,for'drivingtwo cattleoffagracingfarm,belonging toamannamedMullen,nearClogherhead.
