Aftertheprocession,whenthecollectionwasbeingeountcslachews for£5wasfoundinoneoftheOrphangirlscollectingboxes,signedby theRedemptoristFathers.Nodoubt thereweremanypresentattheprocessionthatdaywhoanimatedbythe sameconfidenceinthegenerosityof OurLord-whenHepromisesthat.He willreturnahundredfoldwhatever isgivenforHissake-wouldhave likedtoinvestalittlemoneyon that occasionalso in his hands.bycontrebutingtotheOrphanagecollection,butwhocameunprepared.

Ididnotdeemitadvisab'etogive thenamesofindividuals,butIcan assureyouthatthegreaternumber ofthemwerenotalonenotIrishmen, buttheydidnotcaretheproverbial "brassfarthing"whetherIrelandever getsHomeRule.

Tnconclusion.Ithinkthatthelettersandexpressionsofsympathy whichthispoorfellowhasreceived, inhispresentunfortunateposition, fromleadingIrishmen,andNation()listsinthiscity,isapleasingcircumstancewhichshoulddomuchto hastenhisrecovery,andproves,that whatevermisunderstandingtheremay havebeen.that,theIrishpeoplein W.A.bearnomalicetowardspoor licKernan,andthatnosectionofthe communityshallbebetterpleased thantheytohearofhisspeedyrecovery. Theplainandfancydressball,in aidofthefundsoftheLeinnonville CatholicChurch.heldintheMechanic Institute,Lennonville,onWednesday nightof.lastweekwasineveryway anunqualifiedsuccess,andthecommittee,headedbyMesdamesPeeland Woodhouse,shouldfeelhighly-gratifiedwiththesuccessoftheirstrenuousexertionsonbehalfofthedialect inview.Thefloorwasinfirst-class condition,andexcellentmusicwas providedbyMissBucknall,while MessrsBartholomewandSimpsonoffiCiatedasM's.C.'Thehallwastastefullydecoratedwithflags,Chinese lanterns,andevergreens,andlooked mostinviting,thestageekingnicely arrangedforthosewhodidnotindulgeindancing.Theballwasopenedwiththegrandmarch.AtintervalssongswererenderedbyMiss0'FlahertyandMr.Gibbs,andwere greatlyappreciatedbythelargenumberpresent.TheRev.FatherCorcoranthankedthosepresentfortheir patronageandthankedthenumerous visitorsfromMt.MagnetandBoogardiefortheirattendance.HespeciallymentionedMesdamesPeeland Woodhouseinconnectionwiththecorn mitteefortheiruntiringefforts,and statedthat,astheballhadWensuch abrilliantsuccess,ithadbeendecided tomakeitanannualfunction.Heannouncedthewinnersoftheprizesfor thebestfancycostumes.MissPedersen(Mt.Magnet)securedMrs.Peel's prizeof£1is.forlady's(blestfancy costume,andMr.J.Woodhousegr.
