ForJanuaryofthepresentyearaffiliationfeeswere£212.ascompared withlastJanuary.whentheywere only£866s. Thecounty,itwassaid.ha'vecened withapprovalsungestinsandadvice offeredbytheStandingCommitteefor thepromotionoftheLabourersAct of1906,andthespecialfacilitieswere eagerlyavailedof.Advicehadbeen given theduringtheyearwithregardto saleofconsiderablyoverthree hundredestates. Aresolution,movedbyMr.John Dillon.M.P..andadopted,welcomed thereportoftheRoyalCommission ontheUniversitymiestion,andthe recentpronouncementofMr.Bryce. andstate+that.whiletheywouldnot committhemselvestoanyschemefoi settlingtheIntiversityquestion.they weft.-preparedtogivefavourableconsiderationtoanynlanbroughtforwardbytheGovernmentfortheremovaloftheerievaneesoftheIrish Catholics.Thestandingcommittee receiveddirectionstosummonaconventionaftertheintroilii1tenofthe GovernmentschemeforIrishGovernmentinIreland.

Mr.Redmond,aftergivinganoutlineoftheworkoftheIrishPartyin thelastsession,said Weareonthe eveofaSessionofParliamentwhen greaterpoliticalissuesaretobe raised.Thetimehasnowcomefor theGovernment forIreland(applause).Youwilleasilyunderstand thatonthissubjectImustspeakto youwithcautionandwithagood dealofreserve. Aspracticalmen. weknowthelimitswithinwhichthe Governmentcanwork.Weknow theirdifficulties.largely.letmesayof theirowncreating.notthecreating oftheelectorsofGreatBritainatan.
